Snape theoretically could have killed someone, but later had remorse for it. Having remorse is said to be a way to repair a broken soul.
@cubsfanman-nx6pg7 ай бұрын
Yeah bro I guarenteee it. Either right before or right after the book quote they put Dumbledore says "that boys soul is not yet so badly damaged" or something like that. That implies either snapes soul isn't whole or what I think is that even if you fix a broken soul it's still never going to be as pure as one that's just 100% never killed
@Vincent.E.M.Thorn.Author7 ай бұрын
@cubsfanman-nx6pg my interpretation is that killing Dumbledore would have been a mercy killing and not a murder, so Draco killing him would tear his soul, but Snape doing it wouldn't
He most likely did. he was a death eater for 3 years. he was also a respected death eater. You think he got there. and never killed someone. Its also possible that killing someone is part of the initiation of becoming a death eater. The word is right there in the name.

I just got a theory in my head... and it seems kinda obvious. Of course, Snape wasn't happy about Harry seeing the memory, but what if he refused to teach him occlumancy, to conceal the secrets he knew in case it would happen again? It seems reasonable. What if Harry saw a memory of Snape spitting out the prophecy and begging for Lily's life? Can you imagine?!! Sirius might not have died! But I wonder what else would happen...

I think Snape was most worried teaching occlumency to Harry because when Harry penetrated his mind he was most concerned with Harry finding out dumbledore's secret that didn't come out till deathly hallows 2. If Harry had found out at that stage, and Voldemort would have read Harry's mind l, it would have ruined all their plans and exposed Snape to Voldemort of his true allegiance

I feel like there is strong evidence that Voldemort himself made the potion. He caught Slughorn’s eye even despite being an orphan with no family name, and while he was gifted at a lot magic Slughorn would have seen his potion skills the most. Additionally, Voldemort was fine talking about dark magic with the potions professor, almost like he had done something adjacent to dark magic with him. Other crux protectors like Beatrix were trusted, but had no extra special treatment. Additionally, the cave is implied to be the hidden location no one even his most trusted followers know. Dumbledore door talks about how he discovered it, and Snape who tells him everything said nothing about it nor that this potion existed. And Snape would have been prompted, Dumbledore and Snape were plotting particularly about crux’s that year. He could have not told Harry about Snape’s info, but he does seem particularly uncertain about what they will find in the cave. Editted after rereading Kreacher’s story: Black had to replace the potion like he did the locket, because Black got the locket out by drinking it. And it is only said to refill if it isn’t comsumed. So either Regulus brewed a replacement or it refills by a different mechanism then it does when not consumed. However, Kreacher also poses a second hole since he says he was used to test the potion, which is how he tells Voldemort where the cave is. Meaning first of all it probably was brewed in the cave, because otherwise why bring Kreacher to the hiding spot rather than a Snape’s cauldron. Secondly, Voldemort was testing it, with the horcrux there himself. Whoever was there needed to know about the locket, the cave location, and sit there while Kreacher was tested to find the right potency. That is even before you consider the enchanted boat rules implying only one adult wizard was suppose to be able to enter at a time. I just doesn’t make sense to have snape in your secret cave and then him having no idea what the potion was for. I mean clearly Kreacher pokes holes in Voldemort to some extent, Like how does the potion refill even when consumed. But pokes more holes in Snape making it. Another edit: Interestingly the pensieve and drink of despair have a lot of descriptive similarities. One liquid is green and one is silver. They are both in stone basins, though the pensive is described pretty ornately. They both cause the user to revisit memories, and though the drink of despair requires drinking even approaching it Harry feels the negative emotions. It is almost liked a poisoned pensieve. Needing to test the potion in the cave almost implies the potion is native to the cave, perhaps not brewed at all, same way the pensieve was discovered with the hogwarts built around it and not made by the founders or any headmaster.
@PhilBagels7 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's possible Snape made the potion, but the evidence presented is pretty thin. This seems to be the case with a lot of their theories. There's not a lot of logic to how much Voldy trusts each of the death eaters, and what he allows them to know and do. Regulus somehow found out about the horcrux in the cave (though he may not have known that there were any other horcruxes), and he brought Kreacher to drink the potion. That's how he got it. It's even possible Regulus made the potion. He was also on Slughorn's shelf, so he may also have been especially good at potions. But yeah, Snape surely would have warned Dumbledore about the potion if he had made it. And usually, Snape would come up with a way to counteract any magic that he invented.
@cubsfanman-nx6pg7 ай бұрын
I think voledemort definently did it. Im relieved because at least this theory has some evidence behind it compared to all of their videos from the last two months which have been honestly garbage but yeah its definitely more probable voldemort made it and im disappointed they didn't address that
@dothedo36677 ай бұрын
What do you mean there has to be a way around the potion?? Regulus drank it just like Dumbledore and then died trying to get water from the lake.
@xlerb22867 ай бұрын
Another point in favor of Snape not making the potion was with all the behavior it had, reliving worst memories, an unquenchable thirst, refilling if not consumed (though that could have been the basin). If Snape had made it, even with no idea how it was going to be used, he'd know it was something unique and would have told Dumbledore about it.
@edopronk13037 ай бұрын
Kreacher having to test it in the cave is indeed a strong point that the potion was created there, or at least the last ingredient was added there so it worked as intended. And Snape not telling Dumbledore that he made this super rare potion.

I don't think Voldemort has a defined rank or hierarchy for any of his Death Eaters. There is no actual "right hand DE". At most, he just has DEs that he values more than the others at any given time and they can fall from grace or rise in value according to his own whims. After all, Voldemort only trusts himself, and he doesn't show any real care or regard for anyone, except maybe Nagini. Even when he killed Snape, Voldemort saw it as a necessary sacrifice to gain mastery of the Elder Wand and while he claimed to regret doing so, it was only in the context of losing a "useful tool".

Nice video, nice moustache also. Two things i'd like to point out, 1. i guess malfoy was always a zealot about blood, trying to seem and feel more important (lets not delve into the whole making of the pureblood families and when it happened, they are all most probably not 100%, anyway) and so he came to have some status, money and influence (through inheritance). Other than that the man never shows any skill, not for magic, not for intelligence. He is cruel when he can be sure of his position but... completely incompetent for the most part and Riddle must have known it from the start. I just bugs me a little. 2. Snape creating such a potion. Definately, and you made great points. Not knowing how V would use it? Sure. But it was certainly going (and created) to cause pain and torture. So what, he forgot to inform Dumbledore of such a weapon? It would be used eventually, so "Yo Albus (as he usually talks in the books), I made that potion and gave it to V, (or taught him), beware!" should happen at some point...

I think the most interesting would be Sokka and Zuko. 3: What if Prim became the Mockingjay? The only way I see this happening is if Katniss gets caught hunting and either gets killed or sent to the Capital and becomes an avox, a year or two before Prims game so she gets some survival skills not as good as Katniss but better than nothing.

I want to know who refilled the basin after Regulus takes the locket. It doesn't refill after Dumbledore drinks it. A couple of comments on this theory: What was protecting the Horcrux between its creation in the 1940s, and the late 1970s? Was it just in the cave with Inferi, or somewhere else? Dumbledore states that the potion was to incapacitate the drinker, not kill them, so Voldemort would be able to question them. Without the potion, there would be no need to approach the water, and so the Inferi would be avoided. Even if Snape didn't know what the potion was to be used for...he still knew he had created such a potion, and could warn Dumbledore that he might encounter such a terrible potion at some point.

This information included Addresses, IP Addresses, names, phone numbers, and medical records (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I got money out of it.

0:34 There's also the fact that Snape routinely, openly, and unapologetically shows favoritism and there is no such thing as a good teacher that shows favoritism.

He routinely bullies children. If I ever start thinking of Snape as a good person I just need to read some of any book and it's quickly dispelled.

At this point, Id be a little off put if the mustached disappeared. Now that it's there, it's always been there. It's supposed to be there, its nature.

You need to do something about that humming/buzzing sound in the audio-background, it's been there in the last few videos and it's really distracting from otherwise good videos.

I don't think Voldemort would need anyone's assistance in creating a potion e.g. his resurrection potion he creates only needing Wormtail because he couldn't do it himself physically.

Lately a lot of SCB videos have a very annoying background noise. It doesn't seem to be in the intro so it's probably something the mic picks up. It might be my audio setup that makes the humming sound so clear, but it might be something to look into. Respect for the moustache!

Isn't he too young for that? Like, wasn't it already there when Regulus went there? Also, wouldn't it have been there since the beginning? ❤

he was really gifted though, having invented the sectumsempra spell during his school years

Voldemort only recently hid the locket in the cave at the time. Otherwise he wouldn't have needed to borrow Kreacher in order to test the defenses, as the defenses would have been tested long before.

Since Snape is the same year as Sirius, and Regulus is Sirius' younger brother, Snape definitely had time to be the one to make the potion before Regulus betrayed Voldemort. We know that Snape was so skilled with potions during his schooling that he was outdoing the textbook to the point of basically rewriting it.

BetterHelp was a pretty ironic sponsorship for this topic
