Of course I can’t remember the guy who does it but I’ve come across someone who uses them and shows you the screen on his pico scope. And he shows how he narrows it down to being a valve causing the misfire or jus the piston

Is it possible to calibrate non snap on pressure transducers
@baja-automotive Жыл бұрын
Yes, the calibration establishes a base line for the 0psi. BUT and this is a big BUTT , you still need to match the pressure transducer to one of the four selected options preloaded. 5000, 500, 100, and vacuum. So to make a point. If you buy a 300psi and hook it up you will not see a 300 psi option. The closest option is 500psi. You will get a pretty picture but will not be able to measure anything accurately. Snapon diag team has the scope software locked down like an apple iPhone. They don’t like people using outside tools. It would be awesome if snapon did allow more user customization, like their competition. Using other major scope software you can create custom scales for homemade tools, like a delta sensor aka first look sensor. Or you can program the scope software to combine two Channels and make a new third channel, using a function called “math”. I grew up with the snapon scopes and do not hate them. Snapon scopes are packaged and sold for people who do not know how to scope or have weak scope skills. Snapon software will walk you through the process without a glitch. Once you learn how to use scopes and want more out of your Snapon scope you will be like Alice and start to peer through the looking glass. The dark side to the snapon scope technology and software, is the designers have no intentions to setup their game. Snapon’s scope hardware and software has not been updated since 2012-ish. I suspect the reason for the scope limitations is: snapon wanted a “one size fits most” scope hardware and software setup to run on all their tools; small and big. Obviously the larger tools had bigger hardware and could run better software and accommodate bigger hardware; but snapon chose to upscale the tech from their smaller scan tools like the Snap-On Modis. This is all my personal reasearch and options. At the end of the day I still use my Zeus scope and other test equipment to get the job done.
