@@glaserno it’s actually not terrible. Working in Aviation, shadowing is required. Normally you spend $50-100 a sheet (depends on thickness) and you have to buy multiple sheets with a bigger box. There’s a ton of waste. This is much nicer.

Also you can have the foam cut with all your snap on part numbers ask your dealer. For each cut they charge.

For you guys just wanting the foam inserts Shadow Foam sells any color combo easy cut n peel foam inserts in custom sizes for this issue. So basically you can even get whatever thickness pad you want for the entire size of your drawer and would match your tools. They do sell precuts but not currently in snap on. Eventually they will offer the snap on line. Their prices are relatively affordable considering the alternative. Thought you might appreciate this option. 🤙

Please make it so we can purchase these trays separately! Sometimes you do not have the option to buy an entire set, but maybe a few at a time. It would be nice to build up, and slowly fill the tray.

2 things, 1. It'd be nice to see other color options, like green, orange, etc. It is done with the grips on tools so why not. 2. Selling the inserts separately would be a great way to target the consumer that already has the tools and is looking for better storage and organization.

Right? They have the coolest color toolboxes but still the lamest colors they've always had in the soft grips. We should be able to match our boxes. I want royal blue! And what about purple? Come on guys! Give us what we're asking for! You could even sell us pre cut full sheets that fit each drawer. Think outside (or inside?) the box!! See what I did there? ☺️

One thing snap on should do differently, is have only a thing top layer be black, so when they engrave information into the top layer, it’s highlighted red.

I've been upgrading my collection to foam. I wish they would sell foam separately !!! My snap on dealer will trade in but just wanted to order foam for easier transition!

After some thought it occurred to me as to why many repair shops make the mechanics provide their own tool sets. The other thing I noticed is that these new tool boxes are massive and super shiny. This makes sense because when customers invariably glance over into the service bay, they will be pleased that the repair facility is amply stocked with top of the line tools and equipment. It sends a message of capability and competence. Image is important. Does a customer who spent 80k on a new vehicle want to choose a shop that looks dirty , underwhelming and disorganized ?

The vast majority of people do not take care of things that are shared. Imagine having a bunch of random tools scattered everywhere across the shop and empty toolboxes. Nothing would get done. The mechanics that can figure out how to take care of their own tools have a sense of accomplishment and excel to become a master technician. The ones that don’t and treat their tools like dirt eventually lose their motivation and leave the industry.

Good option! I use it a lot and love some cases with a magnetic base that I can place the tools on the side (wall) of the drawer.

Just remembered to keep A container of tub-O-towels, or some other way of cleaning all the grease off before you put it back into the foam. Because foam is foam and you can’t help the fact that it’s porous.
