SnapPads for the Airstream!!

Elim gets a new pair of shoes! SnapPads will keep me from having to get down on my knees every time we deploy the jack or stabilizers on Elim and I’m really looking forward to that. Installation is rather straightforward and should be easy, but as you can see, on pad was stubborn. It all worked out. One thing to note though: I’ve had to reorder the front jack pad twice. Not because of any fault of the SnapPads, but because I got distracted while hitching up and retracting the foot. I didn’t raise it far enough and the weight distribution bars of the ProPride hitch wiped the pad off of the jack. Now I’m extra careful not to forget and fully raise the jack! It could have been far worse.

Note that our Classic has the Lippert PSX1 High-Speed Stabilizer Jack. If your Airstream has the BAL stabilizers, you may need a different size.

We have all 4 for the stabilizers, didn't know they had one for the jack stand too. I will be searching for it to add to my jackstand...one less thing to "do". Nice video to demonstrate. For those that don't have automated stabilizers, you can "slide" the pad on from middle to curb/road side so that you get 3 points under the stand and then "pop" the curb/road side on with some muscle. Took all of 15 minutes to do all 4 in 90F heat. They do snap on hard and seems that they will stand up to and road vibration and not "fall off" with the amount of pressure it takes to get over the mount points. Enjoy!

The Snappads I put on the stabilizers have been very solid and I have no fears of them falling off. The Snappad on the jack fits even better, but I've lost it twice. Both times have been my fault. When the jack is fully raised, there is only about an inch of clearance between the bottom of the pad and the top of the WD bars. Twice, I have not fully raised the jack because my routine was interrupted while hitching up (usually by onlookers curious about the ProPride hitch) and when I turned, the WD bars wiped the pad off of the jack. No damage to the jack, but I had to purchase a replacement pad each time. The cure for this issue is to either not get distracted or do a double-check before leaving (probably both).

I have an Airstream Classic and also a Pro Pride hitch. I was wondering does the snap pad on the tongue jack make it harder to disconnect the hitch. I ask because with the stabilizer bars on the Pro Pride, the hitch needs to be pretty straight behind the truck in order for the tongue jack pad to go down (fit) between the stabilizer bars. Did you find the Snap Pad for the tongue jack to make that even more of an issue as they make the tongue jack pad wider.?
