I believe that the old standards are timeless. And I hope they’ll be with us forever. A combination of beautiful melodies and wonderful lyrics. Something I don’t see much of these days.

Brilliant. Thank you for sharing, and of course, thank you Jeff, for your study, dedication, and playing, which I've truly enjoyed. Excellent work, founded on strong ground.

Thanks for this introspective interview with Jeff Hamilton . Words fail me as to Jeffs always tasteful and masterful execution of drumnastics , as well as his opinions regarding the jazz genre and the music scene as a whole . Rating 10/10

Jeff is fantastic in every respect, as a drummer, as a person, as a musicologist. What's also refreshing is he honors the music and the music within himself. He also has a very real musical intensity and flow when he plays. I love to watch the communication he has with his other band mates while performing. I had that when I played in a band years ago and it's a beautiful thing. You just know what everyone is thinking and feeling at any given moment in that song. I don't see that with many artist but Jeff is totally locked in and you can see it. I especially love watching him and John Clayton playing with Diana Krall. I think she is at her best by far with those two gentlemen. I buy her albums when they are on the recordings. For some reason she doesn't sound the same without them. One other duo bass and drum wise that had that focused communication like Jeff and John seem to have, wait for it, John Paul Jones and Bonzo. Watch video of them playing it's like they are having conversations silently just like Jeff and John. Much respect from a mediocre drummer, me, to one of the true masters of our craft. Thanks very much Mr. Hamilton!!!
