It's possible but an absolute pain. If you want to survive, rush Ivars capital and white peace with him. Also get an extra county to not be landless if you lose the war. But I don't think it is possible within a lifetime

@@j.ackermann9110 Just did this without losing any land. Gave my land out to noname counts in order to have an ok domain limit. Bought some mangonels, hired best knights available(either through marriage or invites) and then sieged West Rinding before Ivar sieged any of my land, white peaced with him. After that, won 2 small battles with the other viking's troops(700 or 1000 stacks max) that were sieging my lands, but fearing that his main froces would come white peaced with him as well. Potentially you can win both or realistically one war, as long as you deal with Ivar. Funnily enough, I got Pope to divorce my first daughter from the Danish lad and through her I managed to pick up an alliance with Angria. As soon as I peaced out, I started killng off all the Ivar's offspring and also I killed my wife. Didn't have any aliances avialable, so chose a wife with best diplo and stewardship. By 880 there were no Ivarings, I had an alliance with France through my new daughter, and more or less stable realmwith my main income being hooks I fabricate on people.

I can't help but think how much easier it might be to go from count to emperor via succession. It ought to still be possible to do this as an independent count by marrying so that your child can inherit the appropriate claim (kidnap their bride/groom if need be) and then murdering until their inheritence is realised.

You don't already do this? I marry my daughters to the second born son matrilineally kill off the first son's entire line and then kill the father in law and bam you have a permanent alliance with your dynasty in charge

To not get imprisoned when they siege your capital, put yourself as the commander of the army then switch it to your other commander after they siege the capital. Little trick I use in ck3.

I have done that two times by playing the super diplomatic guy and getting Meritocracy. Other people liked my dude so much that they did my crown war for me. Second time I managed to murder the emperor with empathic, forgiving, honest guy. It literally gave me 95% success chance even when my character had something like 1-3 intrigue (does people think my character was so unlikely murderer that it increased my chance, I don't know). The stress of murder almost killed the character, but after that everybody wanted my character to be emperor instead some 5-years-old. Edit. Ooohh, you create your own empire. That's different.

You can set the domain limit to +3 in the game rules before you start the game to make this a little easier. It won't disable achivements

I know it might not be particularly challenging, but I would love to see an India World Conquest run, if only to see how broken can Elephants be with the Tours and Tournaments changes to buildings and MaA. Besides, I have yet to find an India playthrough post Tours and Tournaments where they show the new stuff like the Wind Furnaces and the new mines and universities that got added there, so it would double as a pretty cool way of identifying the most powerful provinces post TaT.

CK3 Idea: Start as an Anglo-Saxon Catholic ruler in West Africa. Rule is you and your kids can only marry other Anglo saxons, plus all your vassels have to be anglo saxons too. If you survive to an empire level, then I'll be very surprised. I managed to become a king till all my neighbours jumped on me in a holy war. Tips: pope is your best friend. Choosing seducer helps random woman of your culture appear in a random event that you can marry. Also create holy order ASAP!!
