Depends on the frecuency spectrum you want them to work. Longer "logs" in these case will affect lower frecuencies... shorter will affect higher... is a mater of wave length.

@@russwilson2305 yes but making a diffuser for bass would be huge... usually they are design for mid and hi.

@@PepoElMaster -Exactly. If it addresses bass build up, it's gotta be deep. A low E soundwave from a bass guitar is 4' long -if I remember right. Bass buildup is the primary problem in damn near any room. Treble does not "build up" like bass does. Not enough energy there. Treble and mids are easy to treat w/ panels, which take up less real estate and are easy to hang (also easier to build than most diffusor designs). Rockwool also eats treb and mid freqs more efficiently than a diffusor. Hence, at the end of the day, I find diffusors w/ a depth of less than 3'' deep to be more ornamental than a functional necessity. I have built and installed quite a few of both and tested the results. Those were my findings, anyway.

2:06 "Suspended above"? It might be the camera angle, but i could swear that's laying (almost) flat ON the snare head...

Hey KhronX, It is suspended just a few millimeters above the snare skin. It is very close. If the speaker was laying on the snare, it would not allow the snare skin to resonate and may cause some unpleasant rattling. -Audient
