Thanks for this! Getting a drumset pretty soon, and I'm terrible at tuning. This will help!

What about TuneBot bottom head?

The tune bot studio can measure up to 450 hz. Tune bot gig stops at 400 hz. Tune bot instructions state not to go above 400. From my experience most drummers tune the snare reso to 400. For my Supraphonic 85 on the drum dial equates to 400 hz on the tune bot. So I believe this video is a bit higher than 400 since he used 87 on the drum dial. Depending on tunebot model it may not have measured above 400 hz

@ Appreciate that info. My TuneBot will go above 400 hz but I’ve always wondered what DD reading equates to in hz on the TuneBot. Never seen any info about that so thanks for that! If you have both maybe you could do a video on how the two relate if possible. I’ve never seen one done so people that do videos using DD settings are useless to us that have only TBs. I just use mine to save tunings I like on a few different snare’s.

@@waynebaker2452kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYaahZWtbLBgrMUfeature=shared this video shows why a video showing the two tuning devices hasn't been done. Jump to 2:37 and you'll see that it's because drumheads are so different in construction, tones will be different even when the tension is the same as measured by drum dial. Another thing to keep in mind are the bearing edges. The reason I have both tools is to check bearing edges and hoops. For example if I set the tension with a drum dial at every lug and test the tone with tune bot the pitch should match at every lug. On a few of my drums the bearing edges aren't true so that doesn't happen. So on those drums, tune bot is used because matching the tone at every lug is more important than tension matching.
