Strawman is STILL one of the best songs ever created. And that Nate guy is still one of the best musicians ever created. Percussion ROYALTY!

This may be my favorite SP song. It DEFINITELY needs a modern recording since it evolved into something so different than how it originally sounded.

+Josh Jones archive.org/details/SnarkyPuppy For a year or two now they've archived a bunch of concerts here with decent audio quality so you can listen to a bunch of live renditions of it if you want.

@Josh Jones This is one of my favorite Snarky Puppy songs as well. I heard a smashing rendition in this year´s concert :)

Yes! It could be even more amazing with the amount of layers that went into each song in chulcha vulcha

There is one “one man cover” of this song and it has this modern sound that just takes the song to another place even tho its not snarky performing. The guy who did it is a monster aswell his name is Ben Abelman

Old comment but I also still love Strawman...just in case you have never seen this version from Dallas 2013. Love the energy and it has Shaun playing some incredible clavinet part that blows the mind of Caleb Montgomery of the Funky Knuckles kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp2aiqeCjMt_nck

Its underrated, stage presence is what makes great musicians amazing musicians, live performance is about making the audience feel your playing, you don't get that done by standing there.

I pity anyone who hasn't seen this band live yet. They set a bar so high that it will probably ruin any future gigs you go to. Actually, that's probably the only bad thing to come out of going to a Snarky Puppy gig :-)

Brilliant! Nice to see that the old style Brecker Bros type fusiion being revived also got that Oakland 'Tower of Power ' funk sound. Regardless the fusion is on point! Great musicians, great music!
