Shaggy! Is back in the studio to face DC's vile mechanical pets. We carry on testing the new Astra Militarum Codex as Cadia try and take on the might Chaos Knights.

I know you guys brought it up around 42:00 and I haven’t seen any comments but it is in fact the wound characteristics of the model slain going toward tally, not how many were dealt so it works both ways. If you do 6/7 on a model but something else you get no credit. Adversely though, if the model already had 6 wounds and you deal the last point you get credit for all 7 because you slayed it.

@@SNBattleReports No problem! I wasn't sure how much CP you had available but did you have enough to auto-explode any of the knights on death? It might have helped take out some units which may have had cascading effects. Personally I've liked to take some amount of war dogs instead of the tyrant because it just doesn't seem like it does enough.

Great report, short and well edited with a nice upbeat atmosphere yet with a competitive spirit. One mistake that you probably figured out by now, but Blessing of the Dark Master gives Trans-hit when favoured, not Trans-human. Normally that is much better than Trans-human, but against an army that hits on 4+ normally, it isn't all that grand.

Great batrep, but you're killing me with the wasted Vextrix rerolls! Start with the bigger guns, and work your way down to the stubbers!! Also Winds of the Warp sticks around until the next psychic phase, so you get the 5+++ for your daemonic surge on the next turn.

Fun batrep to watch with two guys who are bringing a great attitude to the game. I imagine it was mentioned elsewhere, but it seemed like you forgot about your cursed rune of fate after turn 1 (you rolled several 6s and didn’t dish out mortals). Remember that you keep your original favor of the dark gods ability, and it simply stacks with the Favored version of the ability, so in this case dealing mortals on 6s to save as well as 4++. Also, not sure if I missed something, but it seemed like you guys were ignoring the dense cover during the first couple of turns. The Leman Russ, the Vanquisher, and the Manticore shot the Tyrant on 3s, but had to shoot across forests, so that was generous, as he rolled a lot of 3s! :) Either eat, super enjoyable to watch.

Loved the Batrep. I play primarily chaos knights and I love a wardog heavy list because it's easier, in my opinion and play style, to score secondaries with it. Tyrants never feel good to play

Don’t forget the Manticore and Basilisk main gun is now a turret weapon. He would’ve hit on 3s on turn 1! No more Tyrant !

The only "artillery" that has turret is the Hydra. Unfortunately none of the indirect fire guns got it. I guess if you want that you take the Expert Bombadiers doctrine though. :)
