Did they give Shadowswords a turret? Its a fixed weapon unlike baneblades who do have a turret. If thats true I cant see a reason for any guard army not to bring a shadowsword

Hammer of the Emperor is now one of the Regimental Doctrines for Born Soldiers, and Armour of Contempt has been pseudo rolled in to another doctrine, although it’s only for low AP weapons now

Dont think it mattered to the overall game, but about 48 minutes in, yall did blast incorrectly. Blast is minimum 3 shots against units of 6-10 models for the number of attacks made, not minimum 3 on the dice you roll. So a D3+3 blast weapon against 6-10 models, you would still roll the D3; getting between 4-6 attacks (with a minimum 3 attacks being made)- blast essentially does nothing in this situation. "If a blast weapon targets a unit [6-10 models], it always makes a minimum of 3 attacks. So if, when determining how many attacks are made with that weapon, the dice rolled results in less than 3 attacks being made, make 3 attacks instead."

Ryan you’re right on the Ld I was just thinking about the half-strength! I don’t think it played a major role in how the game turned out - I typically wiped the guard units off the board in combat - except right at the end when the writing was already on the wall 😅 correct me if I’m wrong though

Guys, you need to understand the real reason for the mixed regiments. There are very few pure catachan or Krieg players. Unlike space marines , which can be painted in the color of any chapter, imperial guard regiments have different models. GW needs to sell all the Imperial guard kits to all IG players, otherwise they would end up removing units from the catalog as they would not be profitable. With the previous system I would have no incentive to buy Sly Marbo, or the Krieg Veterans

The dataslate is no longer in effect for the Guard. Hammer of the Emperor is the same ability as Born Soldiers so having it still would make Born Soldiers completely useless
