Really love the conversion work (and paint job!) of the Night lords, subtle integration of Chaosie stuff whilst holding a strong 30k look. The paintwork on the Dark Angles is also lovely!

Another great battle report and really enjoyed seeing the night lords. When doing a return fire reaction you roll before pinning and morale checks are made. That's what it said in the FAQ. Awesome job as always, can't wait for more

Awesome armies guys! Just letting you know, you can't use the terranic greatsword and the boarding shield on the same model because the shield prevents the use of two handed weapons. It barely matters because you can count it as a combat shield and run the greatsword just fine, but you won't get that heavy keyword if that's important.

Always love to see more heresy battle reports! The Spartan should have been wounding the Leviathan dreadnought on 2s with the Lascannons because Vehicles count as 10 models (but Dreadnoughts only count as 1) so it should have had the +1 to wound, which *might* have mattered since it was pretty impactful in the middle-game on those last couple wounds. In T4 the Night Raptors should have been I5 due to Sudden Strike and struck before the deathbuddies - not that it made a difference with that rolling =) What a tight game! One or two dice rolls could have really changed the results, glad to see it

The force axe on the Librarian is unwieldy so the leviathan and the terminators would have swung before it, he may have been able to kill all of them before he could swing, though it is unlikely so really it probably only would have meant a couple of extra dead terminators.

Hey SN, lovely looking battle as ever. As a heads up for Rowan I think he’s been short changing his attacks with the twin lightning claws. Should be +2 attacks for having 2 claws so would be 6 each with Talent for Murder! P.137 of the Liber book :)

Just a heads up when charging a dreadnought. The dreadnought can only overwatch. The hold is a test that has to be passed or failed but dreadnoughts are fearless. Meaning because they always pass, this is in direct contrast with the rule as the charged players has to take a test. The chance of a fail means they could be swept by the charging opponent on the fall back

When you fired at the terminator squad with your interemptors, did u remember 2 of the heavy plasma flamers have torrent 9"? you should have been able to hit his entire squad twice almost with those 2 shots alone. Then add whatever the guys in front could hit also. so with the 21 you had, you should have at least another 12 from the 2 torrent shots...

After the Active player has resolved all Shooting Attacks made by all of the weapons the unit making the Shooting Attack has, the Reactive player makes a Shooting Attack with the Reacting unit (including with any models that have been reduced to 0 Wounds and before any Pinning tests or Morale checks are taken) targeting only the unit that triggered this Reaction

With the Deathwing Companions when they got into combat, does the Force Axe not strike at I1 like a power axe? Next, when attacking the Deathwing Companions, the enemy should be at -1 initiative because of the aegis. So if you are fighting with 2 praetors, your praetor should strike first. It should also make it easier for your Companions to kill the Assault Squad and Terminators. Their drawback is they cannot fight so you get 2 less dudes fighting. Also their weapons are Murderous Strike and Rending. So that means they inflict Instant Death on 6s for Calabinite Swords and 5's on the Terranic Great Sword. Companions are downright NASTY as they also get +1 to hit for being Deathwing too. Not sure but I also believe you cannot put wounds on your Praetor until the Companions are dead as they prevent him from taking wounds until the unit is completely gone - their upside is they prevent your opponent from sniping them out.

The Companions with the Lion get REALLY nasty when another Primarch tries to fight him. They drop their aegis and the Lion should have an edge and strike first. Same with any Praeters they are fighting. Those Knight Cenobium were so cool! I wanted to see them make contact with something though!

I’m currently building a Night Lords list and am very new to HH. I can’t find anywhere how these contekar were legally able to take the Spartan as dedicated transport though? Every time I try and build them in my list on BattleScribe the Spartan isn’t listed as available transport. Please can someone clarify this for me?

@@SNBattleReports At 1:23:32 Dark Angels fail four saves in CC with their Companion Squad but only take three wounds off of the unit. Not sure why you discarded the wound that was already on the squad -? The extra wound would have had a profound effect on the remainder of the game as it was in the all-important fight around both warlords.

Also not that it made any difference but Tartaros Praetors only have a 5+ invulnerable because they forgot to give them an Iron Halo so the save just comes from the armour itself, so both a Cataphractii and Artificer Armour Praetor have a 2+/4++ but a Tartaros Praetor has a 2+/5++, which as an EC player who has a beautiful praetor character in Tartaros really sucks.

Dark angels paraetor wargear is not legit. Boarding shield forbids using of two-handed melee weapon in assault phase such as terranic greatsword. Next time try paragon blade - AP always 2, 6+ murderous strike and not two-handed. Cost 5 more pts then terranic greatsword.

One of the few things I actually hated watching on this match was my night lords being played by someone who lays the dice down ever so gently lick a princess instead of rolling them dice like a man with a strong army and determination!! Why roll like the dice would brake???
