Controlling men isolate their wives. Robyn has no friends. Meri has great friends, long-term friends. Kody was always angry that Meri had great friendships outside the family. Kody was not able to break her friendships. He could not control Meri completely and it has always pissed him off. Kody is twice divorced from Meri and he is still trying to control her life. Let it go Kody, let it go.

I'd say there was a time when Meri was isolated, without the support of outside friends - during the catfishing incident. I don't think Jen had become her friend at that time, because Jen would have easily smelled the catfish. And I would also counter that Meri was fully controlled by Kody, and her commitment to the AUB. Kody made the comment that she made his life miserable for 20 years, and was now going to demand a list of things for her to get back in his good graces - and she complied. It sounds like she was doing the list. However, I LOVE seeing ANY woman free herself from a toxic situation, and am so glad to see Meri FINALLY moving forward. FINALLY! I'm so glad she has so many good friends to help her, because we've all seen her struggle with her own independence.

I’ve often wondered if a bonus to Kody of making the family move so often was separating the wives from friends they made. As much as he said he did, he didn’t even really want his sister wives to be true friends with each other. Unfortunately for him technology started out smarting him and allowed friendships to stay even after moves.

@@MamieBelle775 I think when things get hard for them, they move. It’s easier to change locale than it is to examine one’s own failure to provide. Except for the move to LV which I think was purely for show content & to ramp up the bogus ‘threat’ to him of incarceration based on their perceived religious persecution. Even the move to AZ could possibly have some motivation in finances since it’s been rumored in the show’s fanosphere about pending balloon payments on the houses. I’ve also seen it rumored that the house they were all living in together in Utah came about specifically because Janelle got an inheritance that she turned over for the interests of the family.

He’s mad Meri isn’t protecting him and silencing her friends. Robyn and Kody tried to get Meri to cry to have a moment with them but she wouldn’t give it to them. They are upset they now are being called out without protection and have to defend themselves without the loyal dog, Meri.

I've been saying and thinking this for about a year or so before Garrisons passing. I am more afraid of what Kody would do if Robyn left or stepped out of line. Since Covid Robyn hasn't had much of a break from Kody. To be fair, Kody hadn't been with the OG 3 in a fair and equitable rotation for years. Kody's obsession with Robyn has been building and he really doesn't let her do much without his presence or consent. His obsession and control over Robyn feels unhealthy. Robyn doesn't "speak" Kody she has learned to manipulate him so she can get her ideas across without making him mad. It really is an unhealthy symbiotic relationship, and it feels like it can't last.

@ At this point in time they are far removed from indigence and have been for maybe a decade. So I understand the initial motive to put perfume on the pig that is Kody & their ‘marriages’ but at this point, it’s purely self-interest to continue to keep up an elevated lifestyle for them individually. I’d appreciate some honesty and I think they are moving in that direction, but we know even the kids have been cautioned about disclosing ‘things’ publicly that may interfere with the family’s income (wives & kids). That’s what Paedon said. I also think that’s what colors much of the commentary given by Mykelti & Tony on their patreon.
