I recently also built a deck with Alakazam ex, but it had the twist of using Porygon (from MEW) + Gift Energy and a supereffective glasses for Alakazam, with Calamatous Wasteland as a stadium to prevent them from retreating or at least punishing them harder for it. I haven't really tested it, most of the time my ideas are a bit to convoluted, so I'm wondering what you think. I'm looking forward to seeing you play this deck in a follow up video. Is there a place where one could watch your streams as a VOD?

It seems to me like Tulip would work well in this deck for getting your Pokémon/energy back from the discard. Feels like running 1 copy of Tulip and 1 rod would be better than 2 rod as you are essentially giving yourself either another line of Alakazam, increasing your energy count by up to 4, and getting your Mimikyu/Klefki back in play quickly. Having Tulip could also help you replace a psychic with a mist energy for the R.Moon Ex matchup.

I’ve been playing alakazam since rotation, and it got me all the way to Master League. I did find that at the higher ladder levels, it was a lot worse. It pretty much stalled out there, and I had to switch decks to Lugia to get all the way to Arceus League. I’ll give your list a try. It’s VERY different from mine (I run it with pidgeot ex).

Been enjoying this list on PTCGL, however the zard matchup has been pretty tricky for me. I was wondering what you'd recommend for dealing with radiant Charizard? Obviously there's klefki to shut off the ability, though I don't think my opponent will let me sit there and joust them to death, and setting up an Alakazam ex to take the KO leaves you at a disadvantage in the prize trade.

I Love playing this deck. I play it simular to yours but added 1 copy of Tulip for a possible quick reset. You can also combine it when you have to sacrifice a energy or Pokemon playing an ultra ball for example

I ran this at a local tournament but I lacked a big attacker and wasn’t able to KO anything big. Added MewTwo Ex with my Xatu/Natu already to be decently competitive.

Wouldn't mist energy prevent Roaring Moon ex from using Frenzy Gouging? Or at least prevent its effect of knocking out a Pokémon.

Bro i played this deck in ptcgl and i got 13 wins and 11 loses, problem with this deck is i cant get cards, energies idk why and even if i have a fully charged alakazam on bench the guy just boss’s orders him and it’s gone

Yeah there’s room for it but playing bannette would go against the main concept of the deck of attacking from the bench and annoying them with your active abilities
