The crazy thing about Alakazam being able to attack from the bench is that this could easily get WAY better in the future from completely seemingly unrelated cards coming out

I remember as a kid playing Neo Genesis Elekid to "attack" from the bench, even though it was a Pokémon Power and not an actual attack. I thought it was amazing because it was a potential free out if I didn't have enough energy to attack with my active.

The Klefki start is just too good in this Format. Alot of decks rely on Pokemon Abilities to get ramped up. Its kinda funny how many decks just loose after turn 2 cause they cant do anything.

POGO Snorlax is a good addition, too. Keeps the opponent's active from retreating while Snorlax is in the active spot.

I found it kinda weird, because if you want to stick something in the active and block it with Snorlax, then there is usually no point in attacking it with Alakazam.

I have Kazam ex in my expanded Snorlax block deck. I use 4 vessel of life shedinja, so if they knock out snorlax, they still don't take a prize. Its powerful.

Im in Japan so we have had this set for a while, and Ive only played against this deck once. I lost to it because I completely forgot it could mind jack and knock out my Chien Pao for game at the end lol. Watching you completely shut down lost box was awesome though haha. We just got the Raging Surf set here today, so hopefully the new Jirachi slows down lost decks a bit.

This is exact experience lol. Only played against alakazam once here and he beat my chien pao cause i didnt know what it could do yet. Im so tired of facing lost box as chien pao, i might have to try this out so people stop playing lost box haha

There was a Hypno that could attack from the bench, I think it was the second Hypno ever printed right after the Fossil set. It had the Poképower Pupet Master, this Pokémon could use his attack from the bench as long as a Clefairy Doll was on the active spot and Hypno had the energy attached.

excited to see if comboing this with unown vstar and supereffective glasses or the new kabutops isnt too convoluted. this mimikyu/klefki combo is a lot more effective than i thought it would be. hitting for 480 from the bench every turn sounds pretty fun but even 360 would pretty much ohko everything

something funny about this deck, if you're in a mirror match at first I thought Mimikyus up front on both sides just block the damage and it's a stalemate, but actually attacking with klefki would cancel the opponent's mimikyu's Safeguard and allow the bench attack to go thru... weird stuff

Because Jynx only negates prizes when KOd by Pokemon-V, the Pokemon-ex in format can swing through it (and single prizers), so Mimikyu is just a more versatile option. That, and Mimikyu's walling means you don't have to recover them turn by turn, where Jynx would need a lot of recovery

Diance would another neat addition to this deck. Draw 2 cards for 1 energy and stops ur opponent from trying to use Boss Orders or any other supporter card that affects ur bench pokemon :)

I’d say maybe quad level ball, switch to Kirlia instead of bibarel at that point. Make room for a couple Earth Vessel from the next set.

That bench damage of kadabra is enough to knockout a pokemon with less than 120HP but prone to manaphy's effect if there is no klefki in your deck

Do you mean Alakazam? Manaphy only prevents damage done to your bench, not damage done to your active by your opponents benched pokemon

Interesting question, I want to say it does because zapdos ex isn't zapdos. An example is falinks V's ability applies to any pokemon with "falinks" in its name, so it works on both the single prizer and the V. Apologies for all the words this stuff is just really interesting to me anybody feel free to correct me (one last thing, the ability does NOT apply to the zapdos ex's bench damage)

It does. It only doesn't boost other "Zapdos". Zapdos ex and Zapdos-GX and Zapdos-EX are technically different Pokémon.
