There's no laws or anything actually protecting the "employees" there, the "manager" needs them to think that he can be trusted. In reality the "employees" there are also being scammed.

Most medical software these days use "business process outsourcing". The BPO shops literally hire people off the street. They do walk in interviews with appointment and hire the same day. I'm really surprised the interview goes that professionally. I'm not saying that they are bad people. The organizations as a whole are most definitly evil. Most of the scammers themselves are just desperate to put food on the table, I used to disrespect indian phone scammers.
