theres an actual clip of him talking to one of these more popular Muslim "pastor/teacher?" idk wtf they call them, but i always see the guys name thrown around for piers morgan segments or by other communities.. and believe it or not, from the very little i've watched of that dude besides the Sneako clip talking about age of consent and Aisha, apparently his infamy on all these shows are b/c he's way too open about the topic. He tells Sneako that age of consent isn't concrete b/c it depends on how mentally mature a girl is... then gives an insane example of "if they can keep a house clean.. cook food".. and i recall him claiming some 4 year olds are capable of these tasks. its insane, i wish i remembered the name but try googling around and you should find it. it's only like 10 mins but, again, insane.

You can say you don't understand why the slur debate is exists and is immature or whatever, but there are people who would have their mind legitimately changed for the better by being exposed to strong arguments against their use. If you don't wanna do that yourself, that's totally fine, but I wouldn't trivialize people like destiny for actually doing the work.

The problem with using slurs and general is that it upholds and maintains like a negative implication correlated to the thing that the slurs against it's really just that something like you said I don't really give a f*** about people saying s*** like on their own or in private but like if you're out in public you shouldn't say like a homophobic s*** even if you don't mean it on the phone because it f****** upholds the idea that like being gay is a negative thing when you call like when you like oh this is gay it'sit's just on it upholds homophobia

I don’t think scientists said 18 is the best age of consent. I think like now we know 18 year olds aren’t fully developed. I think science shows we need to raise the age of consent. The meaningful difference between 22 and 24 is larger than 16 to 18. At least from a purely like Brain development stand point. I think 18 is less harmful than 17. But we likely should raise the age for like joining the army, taking loans driving and sex. We won’t likely but I think the science supports it

Idk racial preference is kinda weird in my opinion. Like what do you mean you don’t like this ethnicity of people? you’re passing up on a potentially good person that could like every thing you like, they check every box but you’re going to turn that down because??? Their skin??? And you can’t even say it’s an attraction thing because I’ve seen hot people in literally every ethnicity on this planet. I don’t know I just never got that. That’s weird. Well more for me I guess lol!! I like anyone that’s nice and is easy to get along with 😅
@Sin-pt2eq8 ай бұрын
For me personally I don’t have that preference but I understand why some do, it seems to be a cultural thing most of the time, people want to date people they can relate to and race and ethnicity are a big part of peoples identities.
@Gizzardx08 ай бұрын
You would never say this for any other physical feature. Is it weird to have a preference for shorter women? "Like what do you mean you don't like tall people? You're going to turn that down because??? Their height???" It's a stupid argument.

Papa Gut, you said "scientists say 18 is a good age of consent" but I can't find anything stating that. The best I could find was a study involving people from ages 10-30, where they concluded that people reached adult cognitive capacity around age 16, and adult psychosocial maturity beyond age 18. If anything, this would prove that strict lines are not a good thing, since there's a large maturity gap between cognitive and psychosocial development.

I never understood the point of using slurs anyway and why people want to use them so badly. For example people argue about wanting to say the N word so much but it’s like why would you want to say it anyway? I feel like people have FOMO and that’s the only reason, they want that sense of unity when they see black people say it to each other. Because at the end of the day a slur is just a word, you don’t win money when you say it. You don’t get invited into some club when you say it. “It’s just a word I should be able to say it.” Just straight up entitlement because saying slurs aren’t necessary and aren’t even commonly used in anyone’s vocab (aside from the N word) so it’s pointless. Nothing positive happens when you say a slur so I don’t even understand why people have the desire to say slurs anyway.
@meatman5859 ай бұрын
Within the context of not being online so often, it's honestly pretty fucking stupid to be saying any slur. Mainly because you can't control how someone will react to that, on the internet it's pretty easy, just log off or block them. But if you were to say it to someone's face, you'd probably get the shit beaten out of you. And with the internet being, for the most part, anonymous, I feel like it's giving younger people the idea that it's okay to start saying slurs and all other kinds of hateful/bigoted shit
@Naomi-sy9lp9 ай бұрын
I hate to say this but.. Sneaker was making a point at a certain point, just wasn't presenting it well.. If you're really against the slurs for moral reasons you wouldn't just care about it being used in public. He also wouldn't say it in private amongst friends. There's a difference between saying it's wrong morally, and saying it's wrong to say it in public. One is about morals, other is really about image. There's also a third that could be: he cares that it could hurt the marginalized groups when said in public. But that's not about morals per se, I'd say more consideration. If you don't care when it's said in private. I get my take is not popular in a channel like papa gut's but I just had to share.
@EyesDontCry9 ай бұрын
But that totally depends on your moral reasoning, we always have a reason WHY something is immoral or moral. With slurs, the reason why a slur is immoral is because it hurts the person hearing it as the slur is used to belittle or cast negativity on their existence. If a slur is said in private and not being used against someone, rather being said in the context of a conversation about the slur or a joke, there is no immoral action, as it was not used with intention to harm, and in it's effect did not harm any outside observers. Public use opens it upto outsiders hearing it and feeling the harm regardless of the intention when the word was used, I still wouldn't say this is necessarily immoral as it was never intended to cause harm, but ultimately harm was caused so you could argue it was harmful to use the word, but ultimately not immoral on the part of the person saying it, merely negligent or ignorant.

@@EyesDontCry good point! I just have my own opinion of slurs and think all of them are wrong to come out of my mouth and or any of my friends. Whether people are around or not. But you're right, slurs are more intended for people hearing it or being called it to hurt, thus making it an immoral action. I'm aware that gamers tend to say it while playing games and getting angry but they say they don't necessarily mean anything by it. But like I said, I'm still against the use of them overall. I don't think people are "bad" if they use them with no intention of harm, I'm just not for it, ya know? I hope that made sense.

Hot take: I think saying slurs would benefit society in the long run. Now obviously I’m not saying start calling people slurs but I am saying that if people say things that aren’t inherently offensive like “whats up my n-word” or even say offensive things but in a joking way to trusted friends. For example my friends call me a cracker and the f slur bc I’m bi but it doesn’t bother me bc I fire right back with some other heinous shit and then we laugh and move on. I think if these words are used more often it will take the power and sting away from them making them les offensive. When I was a kid everyone called everything they didn’t like retarded and no one really cared. Then the words became “bad” again and people started telling other people not to say it. 2 or 3 years pass and the one person who doesn’t care about saying the word uses it, not even to insult someone, and everyone audibly gasps like they were stabbed. I think censoring people leads to people bein on the extremes. Either overly sensitive or overly insensitive
