What a beautiful strategy! Making the zerg to fight in one big fight, armor piercing missile was fired, and even though Reynor beautifully moved focused unit away, he still lost the fight. You can see Gumiho's being self-contained, using Helions and Reapers to deny scout, tricking Reynor about going for a Cloak, using end-game Thors in first push, trading only the units he wouldn't need for his plan. I think that he tried to make Reynor believe that the next push is going to be the big one, but silently built an army made specifically for this one fight. Because he knew, that at the end of the day, when the big, maxed out armies fight one this one, final fight on HIS terms, he might win even without armor piercing missile. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo Gumiho! 👏 And if this doesn't convince you, he knew Raynor would be rich and full of larva. He knew, that panicked Reynor might look at the Thors and choose Ultras. RIGHT AFTER the fight he was ready to build dozens of Cyclones and in interaction that even Harstem didn't see, he comically DESTROYED the ultras (did I mention the Raven and fast shooting 3-3 Cyclones?) AND had 3 Orbitals next to mineral rich, top right expansion, Orbitals that HE USED AS A WALL to prevent a flank in THE big fight. I think we are so lucky to watch these players come up with such a unique, new strategies. Reynor, I am not sure what was melee upgrade for, I only presume it might have helped you expand (not an expert of zerg, sorry) but that might have something to do with 27 Hatch... Let Harstem know! I think that we didn't see the full potential of this innovative idea. Unfortunately you were countered and your boosted economy didn't matter because Gumiho never intended to fight before 2 players equalize on their halves. Great game, really exciting, and I wish you both luck in the series! Metale ciężkie zabijają! Michał 🇵🇱

For anyone that has finished the video: 20:54 the way the BCs dance with death is beautiful.

I thought the 27 hatchery was for short maps so that you can get the hatch down as the reaper can block. I might also have something to do with a potential SCV block and not having an alternate third, maybe he just wanted to garentee he got he hatch on the triangle third.

Honestly that bc teleport + Yamato deletes everything, I saw it a few months back between top Korean where it just destroyed the mass carrier army in one fell swoop. I don’t know why we don’t see it more at the high level except I guess you’re not supposed to let your opponent get there 🤷♂️. Maybe the neurals were a bit slow here but Airtoss at least has no defense

As I terran I think it was definitely a slick move, but at the end of the day it only worked because he could bank for so long and keep his opponent on more or less even bases and unwilling to engage. It wasn't so much that the composition was slick, he just got outplayed because Terran had enough time and space to build the extra production and the money to use it then and there. The rest was the judgement call, deciding when his opponent was too corruptor heavy to really contest the fight after the broods got taken out, and the game sense to know it was time to YOLO it.
@eelcohoogendoorn80446 ай бұрын
That was a balsy move indeed. Teleporting into mass infestor corruptor with some spores thrown in... something must have gone badly with casting the neurals, or they got shot down very fast... or maybe it was the mass thor putting out dps at the same time? Impressive... but im not sure itd play out again like that most of the time.

you can see Gumi targeting down the infestors in the middle of that chaos
@Tadiken6 ай бұрын
the first yamato volley targeted mostly infestors and took down several of the ones already controlling a bc, from that point a tug of war was waged between his BCs and the Infestors over neurals, and the BCs just beasted through.
@chir0pter6 ай бұрын
His ground army zoned out the infestors I think, they couldn’t just camp and wait for the bcs to finish teleporting

Looks like all the Diamond 2 ZvT I play on the ladder - trutle mech into BC . . .sigh

This isn't even that turtle
@panner115 ай бұрын
@@theblackspark2644 Maybe he meant his own ladder games were turtle? This game was the opposite of turtle. Mass hellion map control, into thor hellbat all in to force roaches, then tech switch harass with 3 BCs. It wasn't even a defensive playstyle. Turtle is an irrelevant term in pro play anyways. If that person was really thinks turtle ever works in neutral position for top pros, they're just low SC2 IQ.

I share you sentiment brother. Its its not turrtle bcs, its 2 base all ins or other bulshit. I hate 2 base terrran so much, its insane how many units they can produce with mules, no other races can do that. Adn its hard to scout what they are doing on 2 bases. And teleporting bcs bulshit...
