Just a little tidbit.. you’re talking about Morton struggling last year and seemingly implying it’s because he was young or maybe not that great… but he was seriously injured all year. He suffered a 3rd AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder on his first series of the WVU game and didn’t practice all year as a result. They would give him as shot before every game and he toughed it out.. but he’s actually extremely talented.

Not just a sneaky WR room but a sneaky good team overall. I've got TTU near the top of the Big12 and with a fairly easy schedule they could win it all. The WRs struggled last year due to a severe shoulder injury that Morton played the entire season with but he'll be healthy this year and Kelly, Douglas, Eakin, and Hudson is a significantly more talented group than Tech has had in over a decade.

Agreed. Think we may have been a year early on Tech. People can sell their stocks after a disappointing year, but we'd gladly buy them up.

Texas Tech has money- it’s the 3rd largest brand in Texas by far- which is saying a lot. The state of Texas is absolutely massive. It’s a top 30 in the country in football revenue and that’s with 2010-2020 being their worst football years in history

This group is going to be consistant. One of the LB's for Tech said Kelly is special and if you are chasing him you hope you arn't the only one. Look at the TE room also. Josh Lewyellen coming over from OU is going to have to work to get catches in that group of Mason Tharp, Jaylin Conners and JohnCarlos Miller.

Correct. Josh Kelly transferred so he could play in an actual conference and continue improving his already high draft stock. Caleb Douglas transferred because he has dealt with injuries and Florida was not going to give him another chance.

I wouldn't blame the qbs for yhe wideouts for there underachieving year the froup was just slow off the ball no speed at all. Coy flash late but early drops from him hurt...

Texas Tech did not lose their 3 greatest WRs. The best WRs from last year are still on the team. The "starting' WRs from last year got told there will be upgrades via the portal and they aren't guaranteed a starting position. Hence the addition of Kelly, Douglas, Miller, Conyers, and many others. Coy Eakin, Brady Boyd, Jordan Brown, and Drae McCray produced more at the end of the season than our starting WRs had produced the entire season.

Only starting WR Tech will miss from last year is Xavier White. Josh Kelly, Micah Hudson, Caleb Douglas - FL transfer, Drae McCray and Coy Eakin will contribute this year. Coy started the end of last year.

WR room didnt struggle last year becasue Shough was hurt. Shough is a below average QB and struggled to make reads against G5 Wyoming and Tarleton State. Texas Tech ended up losing that game against Wyoming because of Shough and Shough was benched for Morton in the Tarleton State game. Morton has a better arm, IQ, and ceiling than Shough. There were two main issues with the WRs last season. 1) Morton was hurt the same game as Shough and played the entire season with a grade 3 AC sprain on his throwing shoulder. 2) The WRs got paid and quit trying. This was very clear when our starting WRs got benched for younger WRs and then those younger WRs out played them immediately.

Shough is really talented. Interesting to see the guy continue to get opportunities. Hope for the best for both Shough and Morton because both are talented
