Nintendo made this console and sold every fucking one of them within HOURS! They sold 2.3 million consoles, the console was initially 59.99, if we do some math we find out they made almost 138 million dollars! I would think thats enough to keep making the damn thing right?

There's a chemical in the plastic called bromine that causes the yellowing over time when exposed to sources of heat or UV light.

Honestly, I believe Nintendo wants these to be difficult to get hold of. They want it to be one of those products that everybody wants, but hardly anyone can get their hands on. It builds up an image of exclusiveness, which is something Nintendo really wants to have. Nintendo wasn't just "the most popular console" back in the days, but also the one that everybody wanted. It was "better" than the rest, not technically, just "better"... And I think it was a really hard pill to swallow for Nintendo when they lost that status. They want it back, and if they can't do so with their genuinely new products, they will try to do it in any way they can. This isn't a real product, it's an image booster. I'd love to have one, sure, but I know that by the time they hit stores in my country, they'll probably all be pre-ordered and most by resellers.

I'm a mid-30s dad. I wanted to introduce my boy to Nintendo... the Nintendo *I* used to play. The NES Classic was the way to do that and I was *super* excited to get my hands on one. I haven't wanted a gaming "system" in years nor have any interest in emulation or Pi systems. I wanted something cheap and easy - the NES Classic edition fit that bill. I was hoping after the Christmas holiday that they'd be easier to get a hold of. I went to all of my local retailers every week in the hopes of finding one for my son. Then I heard Nintendo discontinued this fucking thing. I was more-or-less promising my kid I'd get one since November. Now I'm the asshole. Fuck Nintendo! Because of their douchbaggery, I won't EVER consider another Nintendo product. They've pissed me off beyond belief. I'm done. /end rant

Can someone explain me the Daikatana hate? I played it for ages and completed it multiple times. Control scheme is like any Turok game and the story was pretty fun. Yes the puzzling bits were a bit confusing but not bad.

The problem with Daikatana is that we were promised the next big 3d shooter in the like of Doom,Quake or Unreal and what we got is a an average game. Also the graphics on the N64 version were ok (not the best but not horrible) compared to other N64 games, but the PC version had really outaded graphics compared to others pc games at the time.

Leonardo Zuniga: Actually - no. The rom available online made from one of the test betas and finished by enthusiasts. Release version is a 1-1.5years later version, and have some differences. But anyway, Argonaut guys did one of the best SNES games and second game was much better. Nintendo made a huge mistake for not releasing Star Fox 2.

The issue I have with these classic console releases, is that Nintendo KNOWS by now that in America, Nintendo products are insanely popular. They've known this with previous console releases, game releases, and hardware releases. Their constant excuse of "oh geez guys sorry, we had no idea it would be popular" is stupid and a huge cop out. I want to own an NES and SNES classic, but I know I never will unless I shell out at least twice the amount of retail value or get extremely lucky. These factors immediately diminish my interest in these products. So instead of bringing these home and enjoying them, i'm limited to watching people lose their minds and stretch their wallets for them. Which can be entertaining in itself. So that's ok, I guess.

The NES mini, SNES mini, and even the Sega Genesis mini are PERFECT for a gamer like me who would not otherwise own these consoles.I am mostly an N64, PS1 era gamer with a library for those because that was my era. This allows me to justify getting these games and allowing me that original feeling of the real controller in my hands and experience what I mostly missed out on, without committing to spending on a collection.

brickman409 well nintnedo doesn't have enough memory to make more nes classics, the snes classic runs on the same memory also, as the switch. So they could make all kinds of nes and snes classics if they don't want to make switch's.

Distribution issues always seem to happen with Nintendo products :/ From the gamecube controller adapter for Wii U to the NES classic, to the Nintendo Switch, and even the Pokemon Go Plus. I'd imagine that the SNES Classic won't be any different :/

I was a passable Nintendo fan with the NES and SNES, but when the N64 came around I was all over it. It's still one of my favorite systems and I hope that next year we do get the mini 64 (Goldeneye, Wave Race are Musts!). But Big N, get your shit together and don't make these systems so rare... Damnit.

I think a big part of the system is novelty, a big part is nostalgia, and there's an appeal to younger generations that have never played these games. I know we have virtual console, but one is clearly superior.

Super street fighter 2 on the snes is a pretty poor port, music had to be changed to fit 16 bit and a lot of the reworked sprites weren't used. hyper fighting on the contrary is almost verbatim to the arcade version.

Since you brought up a possible N64 Classic, here's my guess at a potential list. I'm discounting licensed games (so no Goldeneye or wrestling games) as well as Rare games (with one exception) and since the SNES Classic had 21 games, I'll limit mine to 20. - Super Mario 64 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Mario Kart 64 - Donkey Kong 64 - Excitebike 64 - Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - F-Zero X - Super Smash Bros. - Mario Golf - Mario Tennis - Mario Party 2 - Legend of the Mystical Ninja - Paper Mario - Ogre Battle 64 - Pokémon Snap - Pokémon Puzzle League - StarFox 64 - Wave Race 64 - Mischief Makers If Nintendo would actually allow it, I'd probably replace one of the games with Mortal Kombat Trilogy just to have a traditional fighter on there, but they probably don't want any super bloody/violent games on there. And before anyone brings it up, Diddy Kong Racing isn't going to be on there because of Banjo and Conker and I doubt Microsoft would allow Nintendo to use the characters nor do I think Nintendo is going to go to the trouble of dummying them out.
