I'm just imagining this is Nate Bargatze's secret gaming channel.

This was one of my first SNES games. I taped the intro screen on VHS because the music was so good. Both my SNES and VHS are long gone, but I still remember that game had great music.

Beat this game about 28 years ago. Glad you’re catching up.

Nasir's tiny sword makes a bit more sense when you consoder that the X68000 version has bump style combat like early Ys games. Or maybe more like Xak since it seems you still have to press a button to have your sword out? I don't think the game's poor quality can be blamed entirely on the port job ( it's fun to see Kemco here already publishing mediocrity though!) but I would like to play the original some time.

I was so into SNES and Genesis that practically every game seemed awesome to me until I actually rented it or bought it and realized some were bad. I remember looking at the box for Lagoon and being sure it was awesome and "next level".

I remember this game. I still have nightmares about the boss rooms. Although there was a great line about how "light gives us hope and energy, darkness gives us rest and peace" near the end of the game that rocked young me as being way too deep for a 16 bit SNES game.
