+Yoshifreak2000 i'm sorry man, I'm really really sorry... but it just isn't.You must have rose tinted glasses because I played this for the first time this week. The level design is SO sloppy. It's just enemy spam with unfuriating knockback until you get to the boss which is pretty damn easy if you know the weakness. If you get low you just stand there and exploit the respawn box of the enemies to get RNG health. It was a fucking chore to beat, and the only way it imposes difficulty is giving you a big fuck you and sending you back to the beginning of the filler stage if you die 3 times. Mega man 2 was 100x better

You know, it’s interesting that Light was worried about X being unstoppable if he chose to violate the first law of robotics, but left behind armor upgrades to make him more powerful. Sounds like he put a lot of faith in X staying loyal to humanity.
@Michael-hc2hp3 жыл бұрын
I think Light put that message for a worst case scenario. However, I personally feel Light had enough faith in his creations that X wouldn't go Maverick. Especially since it's the evolution of Mega Man, his most trusted robot who's saved the world time and time again. He just wrote it as a warning to be very careful with X and to basically like not give him blood lust
@TokenGamer8 жыл бұрын
The charm behind Megaman X is that the gameplay never goes stale, that's why it had so much replayablility. First reason is the dynamic level design and how the player is obliged to engage accordingly. Chill Penguin's stage was straightforward and had a balanced amount of enemies that came at you from both the ground and the air - perfect for a second starter stage. Flame Mammoth's stage had conveyor belts that affected your left and right movement so you had to time your opportunity to go past obstacles that hindered your progress. Boomer Kuwanger's stage made you climb all the way upwards with ladders and forced you to deal threats coming down from above. Sting Chameleon's stage took a more subtle approach with enemies either appearing from out of the background or disguising themselves, forcing you to pay more attention to your surroundings. Spark Mandrill's stage would dim the lights down to make foes attack you instantly across the screen, testing your reaction time. Storm Eagle's excelled in moving air platforms that behaved differently and your survival was dependent on how well you could jump and land across stuff. Armored Armadillo's stage put emphasis on being chased by the machine, pressuring you to use brute force and quick wit while constantly fighting your way through a horde of enemies within a small, limited space. Launch Octopus's stage took your journey to the water which meant your gravity was affected, giving the enemies a slight advantage to pull you into spikes and voids - positioning your self was important here. Second reason is the difficulty. I hear some people say this game was kinda easy. I disagree, in my eyes it was just a moderate game that only got easier through trial and error. Because as with most Megaman games, you had to earn your easy mode through experimentation with how the power-ups work on the bosses and stages (by the way, this was all before we had KZbin and instant internet information). When players finally knew the in's and out's of the game, they would set their own rules on how they would beat the game again, like doing "Mega-Buster only" playthroughs. This was much better than just slapping a generic difficulty since the player could decide how easy or difficult they wanted things to go at certain points of the game. Another example of this done right is classic Starfox. Or, I could be wrong and it's more to do with being a bunch of futuristic reploids in a dystopian plot with cool weapons blasting their way through a maverick unit while listening to kickass rock music wondering what the hell are they fighting foooorrrrrrr..... but you gamers can decide that.

I remember playing this game way back when I was a child it takes me back man.I would always watch my brother play this game over and over my brother was good at playing this game.Years later when I was growing up I try to play mega man x for the first time at first I didn't know which maverick boss I should start with or who weak against each others weaponry.I start with chill penguin,spark mandrill,armored armadillo, and flame mammoth and then from there fight others with just the x-buster. Fighting sigma's second form wolf wall robot was a hard boss where I kept wasting energy tanks and getting more energy capsule from the creeper enemies at the last sigma fortress but with my brother's was about to the beat the game and shaw the ending.Mega man x for the super nes was a great from capcom or the good old capcom I use to know back then.Back when I was teen that time I later found out that mega man x has a secret weapon located at armored armadillo's stage near by the waterfall.And yes I know the way to get the hidden hadouken weapon if I can go through armored armadillo level by not getting hit by enemies or getting killed by just about anything in this mine shaft gallery level after that dr light's capsule will appeared at the end of mine shaft gallery and BOOM hadouken weapon is where I kill any boss with one kill there's also another fact where I can use boomerang cutter where I use to cut off launch octopus's tentacles so that he won't use his whirlpool energy drainer on me and use it on flame mammoth where he won't use his truck to spit out inflammable oil drops when he shoot fireballs to create fire wave on the inflammable oil drops.But other then that mega man x was my childhood game and I even got a mega man x collection where I play the super nes mega man x along with other mega man x games including a mega man racing game mega man battle & chase.But like I said mega man x was my childhood memorable game like the time I play this game for the first time and now I know which maverick to go to and who is weak against who ever's weapon and love the entire soundtrack so thank you for uploading this video YEAH.

Ive been on a MM nostalgia kick as of late and I have been trying to beat all the Robot Masters/Mavericks with just a buster. This series really necessitates upgrading so the Mavericks difficulties is hard to gauge. They start out hard as hell, but if you get the body armor upgrade in this game they are easy as hell. The power dash is mandatory so I put Chill Penguin at the bottom of the totem pole as the easiest. Fighting the Mavericks with just a buster, I rank them Hardest to easiest as follows: 1: Spark Mandrill, predictable pattern but hits hard 2: Armored Armadillo, DON'T use a charged up buster shot, he goes nuts and does a Spark Man style attack. Just plug away with regular buster shots 3: Sting Chameleon, that tongue attack of his messed me up a few times 4: Launch Octopus with all those projectiles 5: Boomer Kuwanger/Beetle sometimes the AI gets stuck in that disappearing/reappearing shtick and you can just button mash in both directions and wear him down. 6: Storm Eagle. Aside from trying to push you off the airship, just dash forward and button mash. Dash away when he dive bombs and if you time it right you can blast him on the pass. 7: Flame Mammoth. Just don't let him get you in the corner 8: Chill Penguin. Just don't let him try to throw his fat ass at you when he jumps down from the ceiling.

Outstanding skill with no damage on the final Sigma battles and your last Spark shot finally mutilated him before his beheaded scull relocated for the second round.

Back in the days before “scripted losses” were a known aspect. Me and a friend one night during a sleepover tried beating this first boss. Over and over again we went. We knew losing made the story go forward, but we were certain maybe you could beat the boss? We were up till almost 3am trying to beat him before we gave up. It must have been 4-6 hrs straight we tried. As futile an attempt as it was, it still stands as a core gaming memory to me. If we didn’t try, then how would we have known? Those pre-internet days really were wild for exploration.

The only problem I had with this playthrough is the fact that the player did NOT use his Shotgun Ice, ever. I can only rate this a 93/100!

Sin526 I meant the fact that he didn't use it against a certain enemy.

Sin526 yup.

I've always found that he's much more fun to play with just the Buster as opposed to just freezing him in place over and over again until he dies, out of all the mavericks he suffers the worst effect from his weakness IMO.

@littleblueriolu90936 жыл бұрын
No, they don't, and that is very sad. I wish gaming was what it was back in the 90's and 00's, now it's all about HD graphics and soundtracks that are like movie scores.

You guys are looking in the wrong crowd. Specifically on PS4 and Xbox One, there are too many AAA games that focus on story. The indie crowd on the other hand- it’s usually the opposite. And aside from that, Nintendo is pretty good at prioritizing gameplay over graphics.
