A LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY! PART 2!
This is the longplay of Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, also known the Super Empire Strikes Back, the run and gun game for the Super Nintendo released in 1993.
It is the second game in the Super Star Wars trilogy and is based on the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. The game follows as a direct result of its predecessor (Super Star Wars), which was one of the hardest games of his time. Super Empire Strikes Back includes passwords system and some more detailed stages in Mode 7. The controls are similar to the first game, but feature a double-jump and this release Luke has his lightsaber and a pistol, Han Solo can shoot grenades and Chewie has the Spin Attack (and some frames of invincibility, hehehe). Surely this is an evolution of the previous game, the ship stages are more detailed (the phase of asteroids I consider one of the most difficult and painful to pass) and the graphics are more beautiful. No doubt an epic game and one of the few good games based on movies. Played on Jedi Difficult with core improvements in cutscenes and sounds (Bizhawk) and all the Jedi powers were collected on Dagobah! May be force be with you! -

If you watch the super special edition, Luke uses force invisibility to beat Vader. Vader uses sith fall reduction and demonstrates how Palpatine survived DS2. Luke gets into the X wing he arrived in and meets up with his friends at the end. it was never George's vision for Empire to be such a downer.

The Hoth snow speeder level is one of my favourite Mode 7 levels from any SNES game. Sure not as sophisticated as the version from Shadows of the Empire a few years later, but it was fairly impressive they could simulate the 360-degree movement needed to trip up the AT-ATs with the tow cables.

What if the The Force Awakens and the rest of the current trilogy got their own Super Star Wars game? Also, how many megabits would be needed to do this game justice?

I actually wouldn't mind Super Star Wars games based on the newer movies :)

@@somacruz7759 What about some of the expanded universe stories? Would Super Heir To The Empire, Super Dark Force Rising & Super Last Command be a start?

This was one of the first games I ever had. As a kid I played it so much and I never made it to the boss 7 minutes into the game

You have to understand that what made this really difficult was that when you tried to play this game like the movie, you couldn't because there were random enemies popping in and out of nowhere xD

CD? If they could have ported the Indiana Jones to Genesis, why couldn’t they have done this on the regular Genesis?

Genesis can't do those Mode 7 effects

I used to believe that, until I saw how the Genesis pulled off the Super Indiana Jones game, which used said Mode 7 effects, so now I’m not so sure Genesis couldn’t have done at the very least a passable imitation. Look, let’s be honest; it wouldn’t have been as good, but at least we’d have had something!

I wish the Treasure had made a Star Wars game in the style of GunStar Heroes / Contra Hards Corps. With stages in SMHUPS style. I think it would be incredible.
