What did you apply to the end of the barrel to restore the finish?

Why did the OD of muzzle need to be turned?

The damage had caused a swelling like a bulge which you could feel under your fingers. It wouldn’t have been bad enough to stop the bayonet being fixed but it was there. Thanks for watching.

Thank you sir that really means a lot to me. It’s funny actually my life’s been a bit of a mess until I returned to guns for the pure sake of my interest. I’ve done many different things including woodworking, mechanics design, photography. I worked in the gun trade for six years to learn the law then went solo, doing purely what I wanted to do-they all told me it wouldn’t work-there was no call for it -I would fail etc. when I was a youth I was in the army cadets and managed to convince them to let me take on the armoury after the last guy moved on. It’s one of the main things that interests me. I think that’s the key in the end-people say it shows through. Never gonna be rich n all monetarily! Just what I do! Keep watching, going to try to arrange some 11:03 live firing when the weather improves. Good day to you both.

The barrel is usually fairly easily removed on Sniders, they applied some kind of special wax on the threads when they were assembled.
