The U.S. Secret Service maintains a policy of limited engagement with the press due to the sensitive nature of their work. Eric, I LOVE this interview! I can imagine it's beyond frustrating for you to get videos taken down where others don't. But you are also know for walking a very clear line between information and integrity. This video demonstrates your creative ability to just "roll with it" anyway. ;) As for the public, no matter which way you go you truly can't please everyone ... don't second-guess yourself too much. Sometimes when people are asking "how could this happen?" what they are really asking is "who can we blame?". And your guest Lynn Westover was spot on with his answers, just all around fantastic interview. For people who are truly looking to better understand some of the finer points of the strategic mishaps, they'll vibe with this interview. It's been YEARS since I've heard that phrase "it's not the dope on the weapon, it's the dope behind the weapon" ... OOOHH RAHH!! ;) And you're right -- we just can't give out all the field tactics or we lose our own tactical advantage in the future. As for the kid and how he "slipped into" what *should've* been within the security parameters ... when I worked in corrections, we often had to be mindful of people making a fuss or commotion to ensure we weren't getting sucked into a trap or being distracted from a real situation happening elsewhere. The officers may not have willfully ignored the people trying to point out the shooter ... they could've been scanning the area for more than one potential threat, or they could have been waiting for instructions from whichever agency was running point (because that bureaucratic chain of command can slow some stuff down) or they could have been told to stand down or standby, etc. etc. etc. There are simply WAY too many variables at this point, which you understand. I appreciate your diligence in keeping us updated as you are able to. 💚🙏 AND he's right -- people watch too much TV.

Thank you for your perspective. You make an excellent point about hoaxes, ruses, or diversions. One thing that I was not able to mention in the fray was that it was apparent the CS team had an area of responsibility that was potentially much further than this shooter ended up being. So again, a lot more broke down that left the ball firmly in their court to have to address, hence the radical change to his shooting position to take those shots.

I like ER & especially when he is with Mark. That being said if you want a multiple podcast of snipers I recommend Drinkin Bros 1 of which is Tim Kennedy. They even brought in Travis (Dallas?) Alexander the sniper credited with the longest kill. They said the obvious that the SS sent the Short Bus team & maybe trees were in their in their way of seeing the top of the building. Other thing is that "Dr?" Jill decided to make her own appearance in Pittsburgh stretching the SS thinner that day which is questionable in itself. They also got into how 5'4" female agents were a foot shorter that the subject they were protecting & how easy it is to pass the physical requirements of becoming a female SS Agent with its 30% goal of female agent by its Director who was a DEI hire because she was part of Biden's team when he was VP

I appreciate Lynn's attempting to explain parallax and scopes and such. I saw the CNN report that they sent the audio of the event to University of Colorado for analysis, and they identified what they think is three firearms used--one, the shooter, another, the anti-sniper rifle used to unalive the shooter, and three, a mystery firearm. I was trying to explain acoustic analysis of how they figured the distance of the shots, and what sonograms are and such, and boy is it hard to explain these things to non-shooters. And I'm not a "sniper" just an ordinary Army puke that's shot guns all my life. Anyway, appreciate Lynn's explanation.

This is your show, and you're free to do as little with it as you want, but if you're afraid to show anything and your guests are afraid to say anything for fear of monetization, there's no point in wasting time watching it. Thousands of other KZbinrs - not just the mainstream media - are not afraid to show the films, and they bring on guests who aren't afraid to talk about what they were brought on to talk about, so time spent watching your podcasts is time wasted. And your channel has a handful of videos of your backyard animals ... so feel free to put yourself out there like Eric does and make "real videos" according to your standards. Also, this is a very hot topic since it just happened -- censorship if heightened across many platforms to prevent (or at least mitigate to some degree) the masses getting so stirred up that it creates other incidents. Surely you can understand that ...

@@KellieEatsCrayons I'm a viewer, not a KZbin influencer. As such, I will view podcasts I think are worth viewing. I'm just explaining why Eric's fear of saying or showing anything that might offend the left makes his podcast less worthwhile to me. You are free to disagree. Some people enjoy video game podcasts; I don't. He can keep doing what he's doing. I don't care. I'm not mad at him, but he's making himself irrelevant as a KZbin influencer.

To address the addressing of the feedback from the previous video, particularly about questions being answered specifically: I think the main issue that people have when their frustrated at what they feel to be non-answers is that in many cases the host and guests are doing nothing more than gatekeeping the information and then as Lynn did here, just say tough cookies when the behavior is noted. Though I understand the idea behind gatekeeping some of the info, the reality is that we have all heard time and time again where a host and guest have some information that they deem us, the viewers, to be too inept to handle while simultaneously saying that they will explain it to each other off stream. The reality of that situation is that the information is being publicly shared. It’s no longer private information and we all see and know that. We also then see and know that we are clearly too irresponsible to be trusted with it. Now maybe that’s the proper conclusion to come to, maybe not. What can absolutely be stated is that channels such as this exist to present information for people to consume and hopefully come back to consume more. Gatekeeping information from randos on the internet only to turn around and say those things to randos on the internet that happen to be guest and host, is behavior that you see out of msm sources. It is disingenuous and disrespectful of the audience.

Love the show. 38:00 minute mark though is wrong. Way too early to say that. Keep all options open. Trump is the most powerful force in politics. If Biden removes him there is no one with a similar level of influence that could replace him and Biden will play some "unite after this unexpected attack on Democracy BS"
@fkrioters1000

I 100.0% agree. Ruling out Biden so conclusively is a MASSIVE fail on Eric's part, and his arguments are terrible. Just look at how Biden (and people around him) have behaved towards Trump, Russia, and China. Their actions are often irrational, filled with seething hatred, doubling down, rage, and insanity. The simple FACT is that Biden denied RFK SS protection, despite his family history and RFK's prominence and threats against RFK. If something happened to RFK, you could at minimum say Biden would have been a strong contributor. The fact that Eric would so easily and emphatically rule out Biden makes me lose respect for his analysis.

I was watching a different video today and it showed the building and where the ladder was. The ladder was behind a fence that was blocked by trees. The only access point that ladder was through a door that was 5 feet from the front door. I have been hearing rumors of the USSS was in that building at the time. So I'm thinking the guy walked in the front door then out the service door to get to that ladder. If that's the case then why didn't the USSS wonder why the door was opening hell why didn't someone go investigate a random door opening? Eric Hunley get some Google maps images of this building I believe I stumbled upon a big freaking dot

There were two sniper teams and the one they discuss isnt the team that took out the shooter. These two didnt have line of sight on the shooter, someone said a tree was between them. The other team on the other roof had line of sight but the ridge hid the shooter and they only saw him when his head popped up and he started shooting.

Was the ladder hard mounted? Looked like it could have been extra wide and straight vertical, like some kind of service access. If so, why wasnt it taken down or blocked off? If it was a regular ladder, was it already there(in storage?), or did the shooterhave to bring it in?
@ronfox5519
@ronfox5519 Ай бұрын
Since posting this, I've got a better look at the ladder. Looks like it was not hard mounted. Appeared to be a 14' A-frame that was just leaned against the roof

What are you talking about the sniper broke the seal on the scope and you need that to make the shot. Maybe you were talking about the lens cover, but you didnt show video. And your guest didnt respond to that, probably bc he didnt know what the heck you meant either

13:55 If you're at a higher angle, wouldn't the distance travelled by the bullet be longer and not shorter since that's technically the hypothenuse of the triangle?
@LynnWestover
@LynnWestover Ай бұрын
@@adscript4713 what you are factoring is the horizontal time over ground that the bullet is dropping, not its straightening distance. Interestingly enough it is the same calculation if you were shooting up hill and a high angle. It sounds counterintuitive, but it’s one of those things, it’s like a positraction. Don’t necessarily know why it works, it just does. Another brain buster is shooting from an aerial platform (I.e., Helicopter) you actually lead the target by shooting behind it.

My question(s) deal with a LE angle. I have over 25 yrs LE experience who had augmented USSS on both Pres & VP details where speeches were given outside & inside of a venue. So here we go I’ve heard nothing confirm he arrived on site in a van. So how close did he get where was it in relationship to the building? No vehicles should be allowed in that close. So if it was a distance away no one saw him carting his rifle ? Secondly the ladder used to gain access to the roof, in still photos it doesn’t appear to be a ladder which is part of the building. It doesn’t have exit rails on the top of it. Looks like an extension ladder. Was this left there by USSS when they went up to the roof and determined it was too step to have people on the roof their words not mine. I would like to have these aspects reviewed if possible. Keep up the excellent work
