They can be used to look at dogs, however you must attend the prerequisite 3 day residential training course, be medically fully deployable, passed fitness and weapon handling test in the previous 6 months and be in date for all other MATTS. Following the course you must be signed as proficient by an instructor who has attended the TTT course. There is currently no course for chaffinches, so this would likely be counter to the safe system of training and should therefore be avoided. This has been raised with the CoC.

That 8.59mm sniper rifle is capable of dropping targets at much further ranges than stated. A British Army sniper, in Afghan, shot and hit 2 confirmed enemy targets at the unbelievable range of 2, 245m so it's a decent bit of kit. When a government look at several companies for a new weapon, they aren't looking for the production line civilian model. The government has a bunch of demands for their new weapon. Those requirements lead companies to make special modifications to that weapon, modifications that may or may not be available for civilian use. When the government gets that weapon it is re-designated because it is a weapon specially modified for their needs.

Also I carry 10X laser rangefinder W/ballistic hold read-out binoculars. Aso I shoot in long range rifle competition with a 6.5 Creedmor cartridge in a precision rifle. Sure, no one NEEDS a kestrel, or NEEDS a thermal add on, or NEEDS a laser rangefinder. But it makes the job more consistent, less guesswork and makes it easier and more accurate. You dont NEED a car to get to work. Theres people you could out run you. But a car is easier.

they are using the latest image intensifier tubes in the simrad mate so they are max spec at the moment, the general issue thermal is outdated the pixel pitch is 25um and the fov is narrow and tunneled through the pm2 scopes not the most effective or best product but still very much usable, new thermal units now can have 10um-15um or better bringing amazing clarity though not general issue

If your wanting to know the manufacturer of the equipment. Here's your list. The bolt rifle is an Accuracy International AX model chambered .338-Lapua magnum, made in UK. Not positive about the bipod. The scope is a Schmidt & Bender PM-2, with Mil-radian based adjustments, made in Germany. The spotting scope is a Leupold MK-4 model, made in USA. Not positive about the tripod. May be a Manfroto tripod. You must have a tripod for stability. The L-129 rifle is a 7.62-NATO chamber rifle made by Lewis Machine & Tool, made in the USA. The small rifle is the L-85, chambered in 5.56-NATO, made in the UK. The Glock 17 is a 9-mm semi-auto pistol, made in Austria. Binoculars are the Steiner M-22 model. If you live in the US you can buy everything shown except the L-85. About $18,000 - $28,000. Extra stuff would be a Kestral 5700 wind meter. Accuracy First ceramic ball scope level, or, a US Optics liquid bubble level. Badger Ordnance matched set scope rings. A Snipers Tools Company angle cosign indicator. Pelican rifle case to protect the rifles and optics. An laser thermometer to test chamber and ammunition temperature. A shooting mat of your choice. And a butt stock shooting pillow or sock.
