It’s nice to finally have that question answered. Knowing the sniper and distributor/msd setup works so well gives guys on a budget a cheaper option than mpi without the headaches of running a dominator on a street car.

Just goes to show what precision of control can get you. Sometimes alot, sometimes not so much. Those sniper efi systems are great fueling solutions. I have installed at least 40 of them now and the customers are beyond happy with them. The charge cooling effect really keeps the power they had with a carb but the easy function of efi. great video steve I will be using it to educate my clients thanks.

I think that the differences in runner length in front of the injectors with that style of manifold maybe the reason for the loss of torque at low rpm's vs the throttle body.

That was a great comparison, most people think if you start throwing money at it, it will make great gains. It always comes back to the tuner. Nice work

I think the ultimate way is exactly what Steve says…. But you can’t deny how good the sniper is on its own!!! It loses some mid range but is comparable at peak!! I dont think you would notice any difference on the street!,, ….Am I wrong????.

Just to hard to read. Your explanation is good but trying to read your graph is really hard to do

Great job Steve!! I have a 1968 Chevy Biscayne street/strip car and I was considering doing EFI on my 632 Blueprint engine. You have convinced me on the 4500 Sniper setup with your base tunes!! I am now running a 1150 E85 Dominator and the cars ET was about 1.5 tenths better with good driveablity as compared to my pump gas 1250 Dominator that came with the engine.!! I definitely will be calling you when this pandemic covid 19 settles down. Stay safe and God Bless.kzbin.info/www/bejne/baaqp3StgdF4b7M

If you used the dual sync holley distributor you dont need the msd crank trigger setup even with coil on plug is that right. Neat video as always.

Great testing, what I would loved to see is what a good carb would have done also.

Oval vs round tb test more torque? same surface area . Thanks Steve

Can you run the coil packs with the sniper?

Great videos! When you had all 3 curves super imposed how come the horse power torque curves all were not crossing over at 5252 rpm?
@pablotharpalo56852 жыл бұрын
They respective curves did cross at 5252 but it looks like neon spaghetti so it is hard to tell Dark Blue - Green Cyan - Red Pink - Yellow

I don't know if I will ever get to a 1000 hp level, but if I did, and didn't have a guy like SM, tuning, I could waste a lot of money, and burn up a lot of stuff in the process. His last comment was the most useful to me. Under 1500 the sniper puts you in a good place, over 1500 multiport, multicoil......excellent.

Great info! Was hoping that we would see the difference with the other TB and elbow too...

Great video Steve, answered a lot of question marks I had, I do have another question regarding individual cylinder timing, if I understood right you mention that you read the spark plugs for signs of detonation. Do you have a preference with visual inspection on the spark plug method over using a detonation sensor that tells you which and win a cylinder have detonation during the rpm curve so you can keep optimizing timing throughout the curve, or by experience you know that this small differences are not worth that much HP. Keep the videos coming

So is he using the Sniper as a throttle body only or full TBI as designed? Kinda confusing as there are still fuel rails with individual injectors present.
@vengeanceizmine98783 жыл бұрын
First run was solely Sniper, air and fuel. 2nd and 3rd run, the sniper was only used as a throttle body for air. Fuel was off the multiport system in the runners.
