I’d definitely keep the multicart if you don’t have a lot of games. Not having to scroll through the ‘+’ games and a cleaner presentation is a really nice and unexpected feature.

There is a Neogeo multigame cart with a small seperate pcb and external connector,it was released before that 161in1

I think I’ve seen that on AliExpress before. There’s also a “Super N in 1” which has a few different games. The 161 definitely seems to be the most popular though.

Yes the 161 is really the most popular.That weird card you also saw it was very expensive and it had a special unique menu. I used to have a 48in1 :)

So if I understand what you said around 1:15 - !:33. If I have a JAPANESE system, and a JAPANESE cartridge, if If i have the UniBIOS installed and change the region on there to USA MODE, will it show English text in the japanese cartridge?

That’s correct. There really isn’t any such thing as a Japanese Neo cart, it’s really only the labels that are different. The data contained on the carts is all the same. What is displayed on screen (text and maybe even censorship in some cases) is driven by the systems bios. Having the Unibios installed allows you to easily switch regions. I keep mine in US/Arcade mode mostly.

I unfortunately don’t have that board. I’d try asking on a tech/help section on an arcade forum and see if you can’t get some help there. Somewhere like KLOV or arcade-projects might have some answers.

That’s really odd. I’d expect most rom packs to be updated with the latest free version, 3.3, so it may be worth trying again. I’d also source the rom from another location too, there are a lot of bad dumps out there.

I got an Omega MVS when it was first launched, so it has a pretty outdated bios chip now. Anyways thanks for providing tips on flashing the Chips, save me the hassle from mailing them over.

I think Arcadeworks has or had a deal with Raz so you should be able to email him a pic of your chip and serial and get the upgrade. He also asked me for a dump of mine which I sent him. It’s nice not having to wait or being out the chip via mail, I’d definitely recommend contacting him.

i have a 3.3 version. when im setting the region to usa arcade it says configuration saved but when im restarting the console it is still on europe console. why? do i need a memory card for that?

That’s sounds like your battery must be going or is gone. The settings are saved in the backup ram.

Yes, that’s the cart used for Pick N Mix. There are MVS to AES converters, I know a few have limitations and I’m not 100% certain where the 161 in 1 falls with that and compatibility.

Man, I need to get a multibios for one of my AES and MVS systems. I do not have the multicart (multee cart, multeeee cart :p) either, but am planning on it to save swapping carts all the time as I only have single slot boards. I will get a 4 or 6 one day. ONE DAY! The unibios 4.0 getting rid of the shit and garbage on the multi is worth it alone! I was going to put Jp bios in my MVS boards, but this may be better. EDIT: Well bugger me, it is no longer available. I guess SNK got to him? It says "If I can no longer develop unibios, v4.0 will be made free in the new year. Does say when that message went up though. I hope it becomes available soon, either way.

Unfortunately that went up months ago and I don’t think we have word on whether or not he is going to release v4.0 for free to everyone. I would agree that if you’re planning on going the multeeee cart route, you probably want this to clean up the BS that junks up that cartridge.

Since you have a unibios 4.0. could you show a video of the fixes of some games that were made on it? type a fix in the kof 2001 model MVS in console mode puts in the menus and puts in practice mode to see if it left the stricker errors? where can I get the 4.0 file?

I’m probably not going to be doing any more videos on the bios or it’s changes, I just have too many other projects and things lined up that I need to get to. I’d say it’s advantages are not as profound if you’re rolling with the AES and the Pro. It’s great for the MVS side of things (and for those of us w/o a NeoSD) though. But you’re right, region swapping, AES/MVS mode changing, and the cheat database are all available within the Pro. I personally wouldn’t worry about going the UniBios route if I had a Pro cart.

Scarlet Sprites . Thanks for the fast reply. I’m waiting for the MVS version of the NEOSD Pro. I’ve not got anything yet but planning to go down the HAS super gun route when next available. I’m not much good at soldering etc, so was hoping to pick up a decent MVS (with battery and stereo done), NEOSD pro and then plug and play. Want to avoid the Unibios if I don’t need it but if there are still advantages to the MVS I buy having Unibios then I don’t want to skimp if taking it that far!
