Enjoyed the video although you did miss one regular. Tom Davis (Franken & Davis) passed in 2012. Appeared from '77-'80 and was also a writer there for many years.

My dads name is Charles Rockett. When the actor Charles Rocket became a member of SNL we had so many phone calls to the house asking if my dad was the actor. It didn't help that we lived 90 minutes north of NYC and there were phone books back then. Years later I became estranged from my parents. I remember picking up the newspaper and reading that Charles Rocket had died by su*cide. My heart stopped because at first I thought it was my dad. I read the article as fast as I could. I was relieved to find out it wasn't him.

Oh wow! This was a "thing" for me and my friends! SNL was a hoot! I met John Belushi and he made out that we "caught" him, he invited us to the NBC studios every Saturday night, it became a ritual for us. It whent on for 3 years... Until John Belushi died. It wasn't any fun for me after that, yes, I know that a few of the original cast of SNL has passed away, but John was our favorite. We miss you John.

I liked how in the 40th Anniversary special, they had a running gag of people referring to the death of Jon Lovitz (followed by shots of his bewildered expression in the audience). The gag culminated when, during an "in memorium" slideshow, they finished with Jon Lovitz's name (again, he was very much alive).

At the age of 67 years, I along with many of my cohorts grew up with SNL since its inception in 1975. I was 15 years old then and I usually spent my Saturday nights out with my friends doing silly things and basically staying out late with potential run ins with the police. Once SNL began, I stayed home in order to see what kind of funny stuff those characters on the show had in store of the night. SNL never failed (plus the guest hosts and rock bands that were shown each week were pretty spectacular as well). I was never disappointed! I too, am in poor health now and very likely will be going to the next place of our destiny where I’ll be able to continue enjoying SNL entertainment in that place called “HEAVEN”!🙏🤟🏼😎

John Belushi was standing outside the theatre his back to the camera. I believe he was doing an interview about drugs. As John turned around there was icing sugar all around his mouth and nostrils and John was sniffling. A moment later the cameras panned to a sugar donut he was eating. The hilarity of this scene was very funny and memorable to me, even now so many years later in my life. This has to be for me, thee most memorable scene from that show. It was so tragic that drugs ended John's life. He was a comedic genius. These are the words I would choose to describe John. I would dare to say that drugs were a key factor to the comedic genius's of our past.

No. Saturday night live premiered on Saturday, October 11, 1975 with Carlin as the host. (Incidentally, the same day Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham were married). He might have hosted a show on April 20th, but it wasn't the first show.

Gilbert Gottfried dead my best Saturday night live show ever back then with Eddie Murphy. It was the first Mr. Robertson's Neighborhood the best one out of all of them and it was only played once. Gilbert Gottfried played as Mr speedy the drug delivery man who supplied Mr. Robertson with drugs. In my 1981 was the first and last time I have ever seen that episode. It was so funny!!!! Once Mr Robertson received the package of drugs he said " look a parkage that have been delivered by my friend, Mr. Speedy." And than open the parkage and said " look boys and girls a chemistry set brought by my friend Mr speedy. Never play with a chemistry set boys and girls. You remember, Richard Pryor say Richard Pryor girls and boys." I was 14 years old back in 1981 I ran to school talking about this episode of Mr Robertson neighborhood. That's the only really good one. I love how the show end. They shown the little model of the project where Mr. Robertson lived at blew up from the so-call chemistry set. In the beginning project model the show a little toy taxi cab driving in Mr Robertson's Neighborhood and Mr. Robertson says " Taxi cabs never come in my neighborhood boys and girls." Crush the cute little toy taxi cab that was driving in the project model of his place. I hope and beg for them to show that episode again. It was only played once. And was the best and only one I loved.
