Regarding Quantum of Solace, the reason the movie turned out messy was because it was being made during the writers' strike in 2007-08. The movie had a tumultuous production, and the lead actor and the director have spoken candidly about it. Granted, sometimes movies that have messy productions turn out surprisingly great. Movies like The Wizard of Oz, Return to Oz, The Bourne Identity, and Mad Max Fury Road spring to mind. However, there are many times when a messy production resulted in a lesser movie. Quantum of Solace had the potential to be interesting, but it fell flat. If I had to rank the Craig era, it would be as follows: Casino Royale - great Quantum of Solace - below average Skyfall - great Spectre - mid No Time To Die - good As for the new Bond, I believe Aaron Taylor Johnson was eyed for the role. I wouldn't mind seeing that. I'd even be cool with Aaron Pierre taking on the reigns of 007. After watching Rebel Ridge, I think he'd be a perfect choice.
