Thank you for this review!! I was really, really close to renting one for my first. I loved the idea of the science behind it and of course it’s a gorgeous piece of furniture. I ended up using a hand me down bassinet from my sister in law that I thought looked superrrr corny and I wasn’t thrilled with at first. It was frilly and had a bear mobile with cheesy music and....my son LOVED it. Between birth to three months he could hang out there while I got a WHOLE SHOWER just watching his bears and listening to that music. It didn’t rock or vibrate or anything but it really worked for us. Taught me a lesson that sometime you just need to lean into the cheese.

I wish the Snoo worked for us, but it’s really important to watch and see what I said. There were specific decisions I made that probably didn’t set us up for success. If you’re going to go with the Snoo, you should commit to it.

Susan Yara I’m so thankful for your review. I’m a mom of 6 & felt bad I couldn’t afford it before rental, but it sounds like my babies would’ve reacted similarly. Love you as a journalist, love you even more as a Mama whose opinions I can trust. Thanks for being you & ps your kiddos are so adorable! 🥰

Susan Yara I’m considering bed sharing like you do. I’d like a snuggle me organic but they are sooooo pricey and she needs the bigger size because she’s 6 months. Any recommendations?

We did the exact same thing - bedsharing at night and snoo for naps and now the first three hour stretch of bedtime. Honestly for us it has been worth every single penny. We had to find the exact combination that worked for us of getting her down and settings but I’m so very thankful for it. Thanks for the video!

We bought the SNOO about a week after our baby was born. He couldn’t stand the Halo bassinet but immediately calmed down in a swing. But swings aren’t safe for sleeping, which led me to research and find the SNOO. We’ve been using it since about two weeks old - he is 7 weeks now - and we love it. We use it for all naps and nighttime. It helps calm him down when he wakes up with gas or just because, and I can now put him in awake at nap time and he soothes to sleep without having to be rocked. Loving it!

Would love to hear more about how you do bed sharing. Do you just put her on your bed or you put her in something like a dock a tot then on your bed?

My baby sleeps really well overnight in the Snoo. He’s 8 weeks old and giving me 8 hour stretches. He naps poorly everywhere though, including the Snoo. He usually naps 25-50 minutes, regardless of where we place him.

My son had days and nights mixed up so he would only sleep 2-3hrs at night. Lots of crying and fussing...me? lots of wailing at night cause I was so tired. At around 7 wks I bought snoo. That night he slept 8hrs. Woke up only once to get fed. He is 3 months old and ever since snoo he’s been sleeping 10-11 hrs at night. Still wakes up once to get fed. For my baby, snoo works like magic.

I really wanted the snoo at first and I felt guilty about not being able to afford it but I’m so glad I passed on it! I feel like there’s way too many of these expensive baby gadgets targeted to new moms/sleep deprived moms. Videos like these definitely help to navigate this area ❤️ thank you

I’m sorry it didn’t work for you! It has been a lifesaver for us with our second! I was terrified of the sleep deprivation I had with my first and thought it was worth the expense to give the SNOO a try! We bought it secondhand and I can’t sing it’s praises enough!

You hit the nail on the head, Susan. The snoo can be wonderful, but you have to consistently use it. It took me 6 weeks before my baby embraced it fully and those days are hard and exhausting. I am glad you found something that worked for your family. The snoo has been a blessing to my family and I hope others give themselves a chance to try it out if they can fit it into their budget.

I love how you always say kids are so different bc it’s the truest thing. My baby whose now two had horrible eczema and was a terrible sleeper bc of it. But you just have no clue what your kids disposition is gonna be! Mine is sooooo awake. Always has been. And then I know some kids who slept through from the beginning. So many factors to consider and you won’t know until that baby pops out!

I don’t know if my situation can relate to yours but my son only naps 30-45 minutes during the day, and he is in a crib... I’m not saying that the Snoo could not be the problem, but maybe something to consider? I hope she will nap good in her crib because it’s definitely tough to get things done during the day when baby only sleeps such short times.

Can you talk on why you aren’t breastfeeding anymore? I’m 5 months pp and I love breastfeeding but I would love to add more work days to my week and also going on a big trip to Australia in a few months where baby can’t come so idk if I should start weaning?! It’s hard mentally for me! It was so hard to get my baby to learn to breastfeed but idk if it’s my time. Financially I almost need to add more days to my work week! Can you share how you decide? Why? I need other mamas opinions!!

When my baby isn't breastfeeding anymore, he kept crying. My sister gave me a breastfeeding cover as a gift. I suck breastmilk out with a pump at work and then use a bottle to feed. I have a lot of time, I recommend it to you, I hope to help you, amzn.to/3cRJtsE

Not posting this to be a jerk, but just a bit of advice. I think that its unfair to review a product and say that it did not work when you did not use the snoo as recommended (which is as early as possible and as often as possible, including night sleep and naps). I think this review is a bit misleading since you openly admit in the video that you bed share with your daughter and did not exclusively use the snoo for all sleep time.

HI Susan! I briefly heard in your video that you like bedsharing with your babies. I also got very paranoid from others telling me about the dangers of bedsharing and I was hoping you could do a video about it in the future. It would really help me out because my baby loves sleeping with me, but I'm so restless from having such anxiety at night. He gets so much sleep he even makes the 6 hour stretches sometimes at 3 months old, but again I get so restless from waking up every hour to make sure he's okay. If you could make a video about your experience with bedsharing like how and what you do when you go to sleep with your baby that would be much appreciated!
@leuhdd4 жыл бұрын
Or don’t promote it, since 40% of SIDS happen because of bedsharing...
@jazzykitten224 жыл бұрын
@@leuhdd well it’s a very controversial topic and of course that is one of the dangerous cautions of bed sharing. There is however safe bed sharing that includes having only one person in the bed and having borders along the bed. My son slept in my arm so there was absolutely no way I could turn and squish him. Bed sharing can also improve your child’s anxiety there are many studies that show your baby still has anxiety even if you leave them crying to sleep. Just a thought 💭 thanks Leah!

The baby looked cute smiling. I don’t think the tips of a toddlers hair moving back and forth would bother them. It isn’t long enough to catch on anything. Bed sharing with a child is not good. With some kids it becomes harder to get them to sleep in their own bed later on. It might become difficult for your husband and you to have a intimate moment later on. It is great to be best parent but you also need to have adult time( talking, watching Netflix....). Especially when you are toilet training them. Your mattress should be the only mattress that is stain free. It will be cost effective in the long run.

5 babies, love a good swaddle. Our twins are the youngest, and they slept the best when together. When twins are crying, just touching their hands together would make them stop crying. Dur to that, they sleep better together the first 2-3 months but if not swaddled tightly, they punched and kicked each other, waking each other up. They only made 6 weeks together though.

Not a weird question! During my last pregnancy, I realized I was getting old and feeling it. I also just feel way too stressed out trying to juggle mom life and work life. It’s hard with one child, it’s even harder with another. I have a nanny who helps during office hours (8-5pm), but even with that, it’s difficult because I want to spend time with my kids too. Plus, it’s expensive to have children in Los Angeles! I feel very content and complete with my two babies. ❤️
