Nice one mate. Although it would have been good to hear a little commentary by you, like what you were thinking before each shot, where you wanted the cue ball to finish, etc, etc. Still a good video. Btw is that your table? If so, how much did you pay for it and whereabouts do you live so I can know where you get all your snooker accessories from. Cheers mate.

So John just wondering was cue school expensive and that is why you had to turn your sights on other things? I can just tell this was your life for so long and you truly love it. As someone who would love to try out for cue school I am just wondering why you decided to hang up the cue and focus on other things?
@JohnTF5 жыл бұрын
MZiggy hi mate, the cost was a small factor in my decision. After playing in the challenge tour events this season I realised that maybe a life as a snooker player living out of a suitcase isn’t one I’d enjoy very much. I like my home too much and I value family more than a career.

John I remembered you said you got a new cue from Maximus. Is it an ultimate? Do you notice any difference in deflection/throw? Looking to get a Maximus for myself. Don’t know if I should get a prime, legend or ultimate
@JohnTF6 жыл бұрын
IFranchisedI my new cue is a prime rather than an ultimate. The deflection/throw depends on the cue itself really, I think the reason my new cue is not graded as an ultimate is that it has a very small knot in it. Both the cues don’t throw off at all, but my new cue is easier to play with as it’s more reliable. My old cue got so much spin on the ball that it made it difficult to play with sidespin consistently, and on safety shots, also from cloth to cloth. If you have chance I’d go and try a few out, try to get one that has very little throw and if it gives you that buzz to play with it could be the one!
@IFranchisedI6 жыл бұрын
John Foster Snooker nice thanks man. Was that probably because your last cue was a smaller tip? Thinking I’ll probably get something around 9.7 - 9.8. Unfortunately I can’t test any out here in the us. I’m just going to order one off greenbaize.com and hope it works out haha
@JohnTF6 жыл бұрын
IFranchisedI probably not although the tip was slightly smaller on my old cue due to sanding down over time. If you’re doing that then speak to Stuart on the phone or over email and he’ll be able to pick you out a cue that has the characteristics you like! He’s really helpful!
@IFranchisedI6 жыл бұрын
John Foster Snooker I think I will do that actually. Thanks for the tip

Anyway back to the snooker. Nice break. Do you realise that you apply a touch of right hand side on almost every shot? I'm guessing it's probably a correction after years of approaching the cue ball too square on. Just an observation. Nice player however.
