Certain songs like this are the perfect storm. Everything about it is perfection, and it was meant to be made. The perfect producer found and matched the best sounding voice with the perfect beat to match this specific rapper. It's the equivalent to California Love with Tupac on it, or Method Man and Mary j on the Marvin Gaye remake, or Big Pun And Joe on I don't want to be a player, or Nas it aint hard to tell, or Drakes and lil Durks recent hit song. Certain songs/beats are only meant for certain people. You know it because everything about the song is dead on perfect, from voice cadences, high hats, to the adlibs.

Truly an iconic song/video. Near death. When your heart stops, and you are in between worlds, you will hear the call. The call from the most high, and the demonic ego entity that wants the money, fame, cars, clothes, and ho's. This video shows that we all have a choice.

I take it as metaphorical. A culture that demonizes minority groups and one of the ways to achieve his level of success was to accept that label and exploit it. Kind of a "fuck you. I'll make it work for me." angle. But maybe perpetuating the idea of people with his complexion being dangerous felt like he was selling his soul for profit or something. Being murderous was the label society was giving a popular form of music and he wore it whether it was deserved or not because it was what was profitable at the time. I can see how it would be alluring, but also give someone a guilty conscience. Kind of like making a deal with the Devil.
