Chad is the one that turned Pharrell’s rough ideas into masterpieces. ie Snoop even says in this video, with drop it like it’s hot they were about done and then Pharrell gave it to Chad, and that’s when it became the song we know now. Chad adding that simple little synth progression pre-chorus almost defines the song IMO. They’re both geniuses, they complete each other’s sound

damn, that was deep! Pharrell said Quincy Jones was the greatest of all time! really makes one think of the standard and evolution after all of those major MJ hits.
