He wasn’t alone during that time. He was hella vocal about it tho. Him,J Rock(TDE),G Malone,Etc was constantly in the mix when it came to the “New West” movement. That Movement is what actually made the YG’s,Nipseys, and Kendricks buss down the doors the way they did. Salute To The Game for that part cause he actually fucked with their pen and put a lot of those dudes on tour during that time. My honest opinion, when this era came, I thank a lot of people were still sore from the politics surrounding what happened to Pac, Then Mausburg goes down, among other activities. It made people like Bishop Say “FUCK DAT” let’s do this shit ourselves 🤷🏾‍♂️.

That's not true, Everytime people think of the Westcoast they only think of LA, Theres a bunch of Westcoast artist that made it without Ruthless Records and DeathRow, From Spice 1 to C-Bo, To Mac Dre to Brotha Lynch to Keak Da Sneak and a bunch more, Artist on a bigger scale like E-40 and Too Short, Both made there own way, Even though Short went on tour with Eazy early in his career, Short was already known before NWA, And E-40 been independent 90% of his career.

Kendrick's a great song writer, and put out conceptual projects like Section 80, GKMC and TPAB that resonate with people, and that people can relate to.
