Snorkelling with Humpack Whales in Northern Tasmania!!

It all started when my eldest son Will found a $1000 dollar boat on marketplace, we were away from home and there was no way of having an inspection at the time, soon after it appeared as though it had been sold.
On arriving home three weeks later I was scrolling through marketplace myself when out of no where the little blue Bellboy boat appeared up for sale again. The sellers location being just down the road we wasted no time in making her a new home.
Long story short it was perfect timing with school holidays set in.
We set out into the bass strait of Tasmania and while out on what seemed an ordinary day fishing some hump back whales swam close to the boat, real close and we saw an opportunity to dive in with these giant creatures.
It was for us a once in a lifetime experience we will never forget
and I hope you guys enjoy the adventure aswell.
The whales can be seen just off Devonport Tasmania the past few weeks.

Do you have a take on the recent drama with the tassie parks and wildlife dpt hassling youtubers for filming licences (thousands including insurance. Designed for large movie and tv companies filming in the national parks). Ive seen it pop up in a few places now and it really looks like they are just trying to completely stiffle small content creators in the national parks with laws that were made 20 years ago for large production companies

I vote for a second channel with 24 hour fish TV 🎉 I had the privilege of swimming with whales in Tonga a few years ago. The guide informed us that the whales liked to interact with people and I was very skeptical. Boy was I wrong, your video bought back great memories.

No thoughts but to just jump in and go see them !!! You out with the Family is a Great thing as well ! IF you maintain that Yamaha 40 and Boat then Your Grandkids could be running it some day, I found the more you run a Yamaha at correct oil mixture it will run better 10 years from the time you got it. Keep good impellers in it and you have a Long time winner, I too have a deep hulled Bellboy, Love it.

Levi, I was brought to tears from this. Swimming with humpbacks is my number one bucket list activity. When I was 12, I got to see a feeding frenzy of dozens of humpbacks in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. At one point a huge male surfaced next to the boat. They turned off the engine and I ran to front of the boat to look him in the eye. We stayed there staring at each other for what felt like five minutes. It was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. One day, I will get to see humpbacks again. Thank you for sharing.

Another way of enjoying and appreciating our beautiful outdoors. Amazing how it seems the whales enjoy the interaction with humans as much as we do with them. As an avid outdoors person, I've been loving the migration this year, seeing whales on a daily bases. Awesome watching Louise and yourself get into the water with these beautiful creatures. This is something I have yet to experience, so at moment living it through you guys. I did manage to get some great drone footage of a Southern Right Whale and her calf just behind the waves, bloody awesome. Oh my what a day. l guess fishing became forgotten when these guys came for lunch and a play. You don’t realise how big and powerful they are until they are under your boat. Glad the family had this fantastic adventure and your under water shots were amazing nearly as good as being there ourselves. Amazing luck you have there. Literally a once in a lifetime event with your family. I Know you have dedicated a good portion of your life to nature and adventure... but I'd still wager this day was Surely one of your top ten best days and a soon to be cherished memory with you and your family. Enjoy these times, for they are the cherry on top of the dessert. I went to Mexico with my family once, we went boat fishing on the northern point in the sea of Cortes on a similarly small boat. It was a lot of fun.... a giant sea lion swam under our boat, it displaced so much water the boat rose like 5 or 6 feet from the displacement and its wake... it also made the beautiful bright blue sea turn black as night as it passed beneath, very cool and fun memories with my family ill never forget... And now you have one to add to your as well. I'd love to have seen those whales. Great video as always. Keep up the good work. And keep being positive. Ignore the negative comments. Sadly they will always be there, some people have nothing better to do than to hate the world and they do not want anyone else to have any love and light in their lives either.... you have many many more people supporting you than the few trying to hinder you. Not to get too out there but i believe with The character and the strength of your ideals.... (morality and honor) added to the power of the mind, added to a positive attitude and reinforced by genuine love and care for people, and the world in general. Never give up and keep pushing forward. You have all the tools to achieve your goals. 👍

Please keep making your videos, I would happily fish 23hrs in the day and have done, fear is a crippling thing it stops me in so many ways but not fishing from a bank or a very sturdy boat, but do want you and your family do jumping in with the whales that is where i feel it is so important for people like me who would have loved too are still able to enjoy. It’s very daunting swimming in blue water. Seals are the scariest as you don’t usually see them until they are really close and by and they are fast! but what an incredible experience! Absolutely spectacular! An experience of a lifetime for the Tassie Family! It reminds me of when I was a kid in Wales (the old south-west Wales, not the New South one you have down there). For a while we had a "tame dolphin" around the coast of the little village where I was born and raised. One day my mates and I were down by the quay wall in the local harbour just larking around as kids do - splashing in the water - doing some fishing - and the dolphin swam right up to us as we sat on the slip-way with our legs dangling in the water. An experience I'll never forget - he spent half an hour just swimming around us and splashing us playfully. One of the lads grabbed hold of his fin and the dolphin swam a loop around the harbour, bringing him safely back to the slip-way and waiting for him to let go. So many memories. Thanks. Mr. Levi, for continuing to share these and your other experiences - from adventures with Rob and the stories of James McGinty. Hiya Levi, awesome video mate, and buying a old boat is awesome. I bought one a few years back, it's a 1963 duraglass. It looks like Batman owned it. 😂 it's 18ft and has a windshield with a fiberglass Bikini top, it has the same hump as yours does and it's blue. I'll tell you one thing mate, you will have lots of fun with your family in a boat, summer or winter. And it's looks like your having loads of fun together already. Don't believe anyone who says boat's are a hole in the water that you pour money into. Because it's not true, I have had 5 different boat's in my time, and I loved everyone of them, I still have 3 of them now, just keep up the awesome videos mate, we love watching them too. Awesome. I've worked on a professional line fishing boat, at times 100 + miles out to see, reef being the only land in sight, I've seen whales, huge sharks , even marlin breaching and playing , and it never ceases to amaze me... Great footage Mate....
