How to Stay Cool in a Hot Car: DIY Ice Cooler Air Conditioners

DIY Ice Cooler Air Conditioners- "Hot Car Testing". I made these three DIY Ice cooler air conditioners that I am performance testing here In this video. Two of these DIY ice cooler air conditioners are USB powered and pone is powered by a 12v plug. All three of these personal cooling devices blow cold air. I have an air conditioner in my work truck, but my wife doesn’t have any cooling in her usps work vehicle. So I just made her a little cooler ice box with the stuff we had laying around,🤞🏼. But we live in west Texas so it gets extremely hot!!!! But I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be making one like urs really soon. We’re going to go camping soon! Thanks for all of ur advice advise on this stuff! Great!

It appears that none of them have the CFM air flow necessary to cool the entire interior, just "spot cooling".

Thanks for the video. I've got a large styrofoam cooler rigged up for this. Its going to hold 7 gallon jugs of ice. I'll be using it in a nissan altima while im doordashing in ~90°. Yall say a prayer for me. I will follow up with the results for people that are curious.

I’m in the same situation. Got fired from my regular job and only have doordash now and I’m in Florida 😢 and my cars ac doesn’t work. If I add Freon it blows cold but only for about 30 mins. It’s 104 degrees today…

@Bonbonbon739 dude it sucks lol. The AC cooler does have an effect but im not sure its worth the hassle of dealing with it every day. But im probably mostly jaded cuz the cooler i picked to mod has a fregn leak. And i may have chosen one thats too big. Now i just use one of the fans i bought for the cooler clipped on my passenger sun visor. Got it pointing at me. It keeps me from overheating when im stopped. Plus all.of my ice was melted within 3 hours.

@@jaredgibson7462 yeah I’m in Florida and the humidity has been record-breaking so it’s not so much the heat. It’s the humidity as well and the sun. I can’t even DoorDash during the day because my phone overheats without ac.

I would do ice then ice packs on top to reduce splashing or water coming out or touching any or the electronic components gotta experiment
