This is a video of snowblowing and clearing off cars days after the storm for someone who is unable to do it. There wasn't enough gas but the goal was to clear a passable path to the street. This was going to be 30 min with clearing storm drains and fire hydrants but the footage was lost due to a corupted card

I spent 3 hours working on my “broken” snowblower yesterday, ended up spending 25$ in the end and now it works great, instead of buying a new one. As Post says, a little bit of maintenance goes a long way!

I use a nylon rope to clear snow from vehicles. It can be used like a saw to cut it into chunks and slid along the surface to cut it loose. It works on house roofs to but it takes two people.

I use to have that exact same snowblower. With a driveway you should have been able to just blow the entire driveway to one side, if the wind is blowing, that way it won't blow back on you so much. The only issue I had with mine was, if the snow was too wet the shoot would constantly clog and I had to carry a wooden pole with me so I could keep clearing it. I learned to never wait, and snowblow as soon as I could when the snow storm had mostly passed.

Even in the wet snow you still need the snow chains. edit: that wet snow does blow in the wind. lol I have never ran a snow blower, but I would think it would be like a lawn mower. In the deep stuff you would cut/blow a smaller pass. Maybe 1/3 smaller or even 1/2.

My township has 6 foot long steel rods painted red with a spring that attach to the hydrant to locate them in deeper drift. Of course owner of home where hydrant is located is responsible for clearing it. If you don't there is a fine, same for not shoveling the sidewalk within 6 hours of snowfall. In the summer there is a 3 foot wide band of grass between curb and sidewalk homeowner is responsible to maintain that too. Blowing or shoveling snow into street is another fine if you don't clear it after. Same with grass clipping in summer. No grass in storm drains. Fire hydrant is across the road/street from my home. I clear it if the neighbor hasn't gotten to it. Sometimes he does the sidewalk side and I do the street side. We both have snow blowers. All is good.

As long as the cleared snow is still flying, everything is okay. - For wet snow, I prefer to use an electric scraper. It works on a different principle. Unfortunately, these usually do not have a drive motor. They are only found here in Germany up to a snow depth of 30cm.

Smaller passes are easier on the opperator and the machine. Full width for the first pass only then 1/3 to 2/3 housing width for subsequent passes. Sweeps clean, no followup needed to clear. Belts last longer. Synthetic oil, and a Bosch spark plug will give you a noticable power boost.
