This is just a fun attempt to sing and play this tricky tune. You guys have been requesting it a lot in my livestreams so I thought I'd post it here too! It's a legendary riff and a great challenge to sing along with the guitar part. Give it a try! I had some syncing issues with the audio and video on this which I couldn't fix. I hope it's not too annoying and you enjoy!

About 10 years ago I hit a real low point in my life and sold off all my guitars for... reasons. Things are a lot better now and I just recently treated myself to a very nice Epiphone acoustic. I'm essentially re-learning how to play guitar at this point. This is my goal song. This channel is my go to for acoustic covers when I'm looking for something new to work on/ mess around with.

I can play this... but on an acoustic and sing it at the same time????? Thats GOD level. I can't believe you nailed it so well. I play this song with my band and they always want me to play it acoustic and I always say thats impossible. Anyone who is unaware this is one of the hardest guitar riffs of all time, and to be able to match up the vocal cadence with the picking pattern of the guitar is incredibly difficult even for a full band where each memeber is focused on just one aspect of the song. Here he is playing the bass the rhythm the lead and the vocals. Kid is amazing

Yeah, you can know quite how difficult this even more clearly when you can actually play it. So I can get the riff to sound decent, though not as good as his. And he’s singing. And doing it for the whole song, mistakes. It’s insanely hard, impossible for me.

Corey is making this riff even harder than it was originally. He's keeping the pressure on the lower strings during the hammer-ons. In the video's I've seen, John doesn't do that. I'm sure it sounds nicer with the low strings ringing out but that makes it so much harder to play. Amazing.

Awesome as always mate! I realise once you nail it down, what seems an impossible task of singing this along with playing it might seem just natural and simplistic, but I l know it isn't and I'd imagine takes a long time to get the timing right. So good of a rendition, and I hope to be with you on this in about 8 weeks time. Just learned the tune properly so need to move to humming along with singling to get the right place to come in without distracting from the already complex guitar. Wish me luck :)
