The first injured leopard who lost one front foot must be hurted by poaching, it is a concern of how this animal can survive in wild, if she cant hunt, then she might wud die at the end as well Worse still, if she has babies, the babies will die too because mother cant feed them without catching prey It is such a heart breaking scene for snow leopard lovers Just hope these beautiful creatures can survive with the mercy of us human

I think that in such a situation it's better to intervene and let the disabled leopard live the rest of her life in captivity. And particularly if cubs are involved, humans should search for them so that they can grow up in a zoo and enter a captive breeding program. We can't just allow offspring of an endangered species to die.

if marmots are very abundant as well as free-ranging small-sized livestock, it would have some chance to survive

I wonder why you presume it is a she. It could well be a male cat.

They put a collar on the snow leopard missing part of a limb- couldn't they have fashioned a prosthetic limb for it as well? The gorgeous cat's quality of life would be greatly improved.

It was already tagged, before getting caught in a snare. Hope they realised, managed to trace it and hopefully brought it into captivity. It is his/her only chance 😭
@zfilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
The injured paw is not from poaching. It was likely injured from a snare used to capture it for the collar he wears that tracks his movement. The snare tightens around a paw to capture it and during that time, and when captured by the team that set the snare, the leopard is trying to get away by any means, including self-injury. The harder it pulls the tighter the snare gets.
@spartanthe300ththermopylae43 жыл бұрын
Absolutely ZERO chance. They would never have tagged it and released it without its paw, as it would mean a certain death. The Goddamn poachers did it.
@zfilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
@@spartanthe300ththermopylae4 you don’t know what you’re talking about. Numerous snow leopards have been injured from snares used for scientific research. If it were a poacher they would kill it.
@spartanthe300ththermopylae43 жыл бұрын
@zfilmmaker "Numerous snow leopards have been injured from snares used for scientific research." What's your source? You don't have the foggiest idea what you're talking about. The researchers don't use snares to catch them. They tranquilise them. As for "the poachers would have killed it"... Yes, they would have, if they were there. But they don't sit next to their traps 24/7. The poor leopard had managed to rip his/her paw off before they got to him and thus saved himself, even just temporarily.

@@spartanthe300ththermopylae4 You’re an expert? What’s my source? Hmm, well I won an Emmy for a documentary I did years ago on Snow Leopards for National Geographic. Aside from that, numerous injured snow leopards now live in zoos who were caught by ‘snares’ set by “researchers”. Do you know why your tranquilizer comment is so stupid, none of the research organizations can afford a helicopter, the terrain is so remote a helicopter can’t reach it, wind and weather is another issue, snow leopards are very hard to find, no researcher has the budget or ability to hang out on the side of a cliff waiting for one to tranquilize. The use of a snare is the predominant capture method because no one has to be there. A sensor goes off altering to a capture. I can’t stand people like you who comment without knowledge… it’s literally pathetic. I’m guessing you’re a expert at watching YT videos… that’s your body of knowledge.

Dear humans, you’d better put this leopard with no leg in captivity (of course in good conditions) not healthy one. Because he can hardly survive in the wild

If I was guessing, that damm, collar caused her injury, I will not watch this video because ,I don't want to see them if it means hindering them in there struggle to survive, it's not easy ,for them to live from meal to meal without this hindrance, it will take , as you like to say ,take millions of years for them to adapt to these collars so as to survive ,think about you having a tight fitting collar fitted around your neck , could you fulfill your daily task in the wild with this annoyance, disturbing your concentration, it would be like being in a cage , think about it , if I am wrong you so called animal lovers can can skin me alive also
@StormEyes19914 жыл бұрын
The collar didn't do that. A bear trap or something similar did. He or she was probably caught by poachers or by farmers defending their goats from predators. The radio collar is not tight enough to do him or her any harm and may in fact be of help to him or her if he or she gets into trouble because then people can find him or her, treat him or her at the vet and re-release him or her.
