Snow removal efforts begin in Hutchinson

I live 18 miles west of Hutchinson and for the most part Tuesday afternoon was the most snow I seen. The wind blew the rest around. Far cry from the 12-23 inches I was suppose to get in my area.

In 1966 1 was a senior in high school When we got to school it was sunny and then it started to snow hard and blow. They sent us home at noon The country busses couldn't leave town. We then went to went to the family we had chosen in the fall. My dad was a road contractor. He came into town to get us in a road grader. My uncle was waiting for us just outside.of town. Hwy 7 the is a hill on the north side of the Hwy. It was.not thst far it had snowed a lot My uncle opened thst road for with a Catapiller he went forwards and back and forward there was that much snow already. It snowed and blew for 3 days. We had a detached garage set a little back from the house we had a drift comeing off the roof of the garage the hight if the roof the length height of yhe garage. It took Catapillers open hwy 7.
