It ALWAYS floods there, but they never do anything about it! So typical of Maui..

That area used to be a large marsh that filter runoff before it reached the ocean. The coral in that part has been decimated because of the runoff and other environmental and manmade reasons. And fish need the reefs as a nursery.

"Addressing the future" ? what should really happen is ousting the mayor as well as the governor from running the island. Nothing will change in Maui until the corrupt politicians are replaced with competent officials.
