Hey Jari, Thanks for the video. The pattern is beautiful. I have a few questions. 1) How do determine the appropriate lengths for the snow runner fibers and bucktail to create taper, 2) any tips for "taming" bucktail, and 3) without going into too much detail, what is your preferred manner to fish this fly? Thanks in advance Doug

1)The overall desired length of the fly determines the length of the SR used. The first two bucktail ties can be almost as long as the SR. When you get closer to the front of the fly shorten the bucktail, especially on the bottom part to create a a good taper and minimize fouling. 2) Especially when tying Hollow ties make sure you keep your thread as straight as possible when creating the thread cone. Use more thread and control the angle more if your using stiffer bucktail. If you got the nice soft stuff, remember to leave the angle high enough as it will go down quite a bit after you wash it up. 3) it depends totally on what and where I'm fishing. It's just a baitfish streamer pattern like many others out there. Fish it how the fish want it to be fished. I know, a lousy answer but that's just the way it goes.

Why that hook style? because of the target species intended for this fly, like salt water fishing? just curious if there is a reason to use a different streamer hook than used normally/allot on other patterns.

The hook is a heavier SW hook because I want the fly to sink and to hold up to really big fish. I will be using it to catch(hopefully) species like Redfish, Coalfish and pike.
