Nayat (Snow Runner) is a very unique material most commonly found in the EU tying markets along with Canada, but here in the U.S. it is fairly unknown. The Long Hair material is likely the best all around "Hair" that tiers have access to having a long length, stiffer guard hair that reduces fowling/knotting and maintains durability, and a wooly undercoat that fills in nicely and can be combed out and stacked for wool heads.
Nayat can me purchased from:
Big Streamers - www.bigstreame...
Fly Dressing AB (Sweden) *Wholesaler - find local retailer
Skeena River Fly Supply (Canada)
This pattern uses snow runner in my favorite fashion as an overwing, combined with Average length Bucktail to help build and maintain Bulk. Tied on the GB Predator Swimbait Hook PR378 from Ahrex Hooks, this all purpose Weeedless baitfish is a Winner! Simple, easy to tie, durable, and effective! Hope you enjoy!
-Gunnar

Thanks for the tutorial, Gunnar! I was really appreciative to have the extended version included, as well. I'm amazed at how little material you use to achieve such great profiles with your flies. Lastly, thanks for making working from home far more tolerable. I'm typically tying something while eating lunch and this one is definitely getting added to the queue.

I love the Bigstreamers nayat, been using it for two years now. Dennis always has premium material and, besides being a top notch friend, he always looks out for the best materials for his customers. I think nayat is an important addition to the arsenal of tieing materials. I mostly use it on bulkheads to taper the tail section, but you can use the. Underbrush for the actual bulkhead as well to create the head. I love your design, will definitely tie some myself 👌
