I see that you have had both Camso DTS129" and Timbersled Riot120".. Im looking at buying one of the 2, which did you prefer, pros/cons, and why? It will be on a CRF450. Mostly Lake/BackCountry Riding (Possibly some mountain in the future)
@JourdonGulick3 жыл бұрын
The Camso is heavier, larger, less nimble, but the track is excellent. You can climb a lot of stuff easily. The kit is also very durable. The suspension is okay, but you will notice the lack of suspension if you are jumping at all. Also a big bonus is the price. You can usually find a Camso for half the price. I never had to deal with warranty or customer service so I'm not sure on that end. The Riot is way more playful and has more of that dirtbike feel. The suspension on the LE is super smooth and you are able to adjust it on the fly. The track is shorter and you might struggle more in the heavy snow. It is amazing in Spring snow conditions. And I haven't had to deal with warranty/customer service for Timbersled yet either. Most kits are really close in performance and quality. Just lots of little things that each kit does better than the other. If you have the money then get the best of the best, but if not just get what you can afford and go from there.

The bottomless days I love, the bikes just don't do well in though. They are easier to hold a line on steep sidehills in technical terrain, but I like to dangle, and been riding in the cascade mountains for 40yrs,(I'm only 44 just got started early) so my axys RMK isn't going anywhere. They are fun though, and maybe my fe501 will get a yeti someday.

There in different categories Snow bikes have one ski up front. Snowmobiles have two skis ! ive spent time on both and they both have there good and bad things But what stood out the most is yes you can go just about anywhere on a snowbike but there's no comparison to a snowmobile when it comes down to the thrill of hauling ass Sleds bark and snowbikes fart .!!

After watching - did anybody get above 30kmh? These don't seem fast, even turbo'd. Obviously they're lighter but how much can they really put out for speed? Are you not stuck in 3rd all the time? Do they climb better? Fuel mileage? You've got a tiny fuel tank on a 450. Not big enough (I think, not sure) of a track to keep the bike not-stuck even though the track is ... huge looking. Are they way easier to get through tree's (especially side hilling) ? Ever considered running two ski's up front real close to each other? Would give a lot of lift on the front end, maybe you'd be able to do drop-downs easier where the front doesn't sink into the snow so hard you fall off lol. edit: the way they lean/carve through tree's effortlessly is too cool. another question, are these less tiring than snowmobiles? Less weight, more lean ability, they ought to be.
@JourdonGulick4 жыл бұрын
They have plenty of limitations, but they also do things better. An 850cc sled vs. a 450cc bike... I think you know which one is going to have more power. It's easier for a beginner to hop on and ride aggressive terrain and it's definitely less tiring to ride. The title is just to piss all the sledders off 🤣🤣
@NickandStuff4 жыл бұрын
For a tiny bike compared to a sled in that deep of snow looks like he's going a pretty decent speed to me. And could go a lot faster with less snow. You have a lot of room to store extra fuel as well.
@jonathancolton80134 жыл бұрын
I’m 150lbs and 5’4.” A sled is so much more work due to lack of weight to shift. Sleds just move more weight and if your lean and fit the snow bike is the only way to go! I have a KX450 and that’s more than enough power. If you going for speed, just stick to tires and riding dirt! If you want to discuss speed, buy a street bike. Snow is not the place to find speed but instead a place to explore uncertainty and adventure!

Snowbikes need to ride with other snowbikes Cuz When mixed with sleds it sucks for both sides !! Just got back from a sled trip and we had a snowbike rider in are group that was just as good if not better then you guys on this video anyway the snow was fresh and very deep and throughout the day we would get a laugh just watching the snowbike get up to where we were at he had to zig zag back and fourth slowly and eventually made up but a snowbike can go into places where sleds can't period And once again it's because there not in the same category except that there both snow machines that's it, one has 1 ski up front and the other has 2 skis . snowbikes are very slow yet very nimble and light ish Sleds have way more power and haul ass and SOUND WAY BETTER while doing so !!!! The snow biker himself even said that he should of brought his sled cuz it's hard to keep up with sleds especially on untouched deep snow log roads And he had over 25k into his snowbike . So a snowmobiler with a group of snowbikes will not have that good of a time especially when heavily treed
