I’m in the US and fortunately did not watch the NBC coverage but instead watched the live streaming feed and stuck around for bib 26 to ski. An amazing run followed by an amazing stunned look as she was sure the clock was wrong. Another video I saw has the audio of the camera man at the bottom assuring her that she had actually won.

It didn't even matter with some mistakes - the one port they all struggled with and Vonn totally flonked, Ester just nailed like a boss! It was beautiful.

Ester wanted to win a Gold at this Olympics. At snowboard parallel giant slalom. And about 3 hours ago she did and it was spectacular. None of the other athletes had any chance. However, because her main event was scheduled on the one but last day of the Olympics, she decided to compete at alpine skiing super G. So she had a week of practice focused on skiing only and then she goes to win! Afer that, she had 5 days to switch from a skier to a snowboarder again. Shey says it was hard and she cried the night before the snowboard competition. And then she goes and wins it by a landslide. She´s the first Olympic athlete to have won 2 golds at two different sports. Ester Ledecká is the star of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

she's not first to win in two different sports. There were some in 1920s I think, but she's first since and the only woman in history to do that! So proud she's from my country

Jsem po operaci prstu a datluji jednou rukou, takže tu nebudu psát anglicky, když je to tu samej čech. Osobně vidím jako největší úspěch jednotlivce ve sportu v našich dějinách Zátopka. Když v Helsinkách vyhrál běh na 5K a 10k, tak se to tak nějak čekalo. To, že poběží maraton oznámil při rozhovoru s novinářem, který se ho zeptal jaké má plány na další dny. Zátopek prostě řekl, že zkuší ještě maraton :) Závodně ho nikdy neběžel a nevěděl, jak má rychle běžet. Takže si vybral jednoduchou strategii. Favoritem byl jistý Peters. Tak prostě že poběží za ním. Před závodem za ním přišel, řekl "Hello, Iam Zátopek and i would like to run with you". Peters ale rád běhal sám. Takže na začátku nasadil vysoké tempo, aby Zátopek odpadl. Někde na 10km se Zátopek Peterse ptá, jestli neběží moc rychle. Již v té době zničený soupeř odpoví, že naopak běží pomalu. No tak Zátopek prostě přidal. Na 17. km Peters zkolaboval. Zátopek doběhl s velkým náskokem. Když si pustíte dobové záběry a slyšíte, jak celý stadion skanduje jeho jméno, tak z toho jde mráz po zádech.

Jinak aby jste mne nepochipila špatně. Ester podala exceletní výkon a zapsala se do dějin sportu. Když závod skončil, břečel jsem jako malé dítě a snad takto hrdý na svoji vlast jsem byl naposledy v Naganu.
