In this video I teach two stranger to how to snowboard. I saw Z and Ali in the lift line and they asked if I could give them a few tips. Had a great time showing them the basics and I hope they stick with it!

I think this kind of video is much better than just giving some 5 tips for beginners. In here you actually see a beginner's struggles and how they overcome them. That's great. What a petty nobody told the guys to get propper clothing for snowboarding. Amazing, Kevin!

This is so great! I'm new at snowboarding and just moved to CO. I got on a snowboard when I was like 6 at a random sledding park growing up in NY and these kids lets me go on their board and I hit a tiny ramp not kowing what to do. Ever since then I've wanted to try this sport. Finally at 26 I live in a state where I can do it and financially able to. It's been disheartening seeing so many people hate on the newbies, but everyone starts somewhere. We need more people like you! Much appreciated!

I recently picked up snowboarding at age 28, after skiing (4 days a year) for 8 years, i moved to a place where they have a local resort, i find that at the very beginning its nice to be alone and figure things out at your own pace (prereq would be good balance, and the ability to do alot of squats :D) - but at a later stage you want to have the occational friend group (actually want some skiiers) that forces you down black slopes, cuz you dont wanna make them wait for you so it kinda forces you to push the boundries. I've got about 60 hrs of riding on my snowboard this season and im loving it! Good luck out there!

Amazing! Few things that i do that just help build good habits and makes it a lil easier to teach. 1. Go over basic terminology/ physics of snowboarding. 2. The first time they get up don’t help them. Walk them through it and have them get up to the best of their abilities and kind of go through a progression of helping less and less until they can get up on their own. 3. After heel slip/ toe slip, reach falling leaf on both sides. And last but not least give them an example before every thing you teach them, makes them understand It better. Just a few things I like to do. Great video!

I was trying to teach my friend how to ski and I found this video. I have a piece of advice for any beginner who wants to learn to ski. If you do decide to learn to ski, before you start I recommend you first learn how to set up your bindings properly. Because I found in the video that the gap between their binding plates and boots is too large, which will directly affect the control of the skis and affect the initial experience. The first experience is very important.

the way I was taught was that the foot you are more dominant with goes back. So because im right footed, I should be left foot forward, but again, its very different with snowboarding and the fun of it is finding out what side you are more comfortable forward, and turns out im a goofy stance and not a regular, which goes against what I was first taught when i first learned in canada and then even back here in the UK. Taught myself when I was 9 the old fashioned way by going down and falling a million times. By the end of the season I got it down enough to go without falling a few different trails. This was so helpful. I’m going to take lessons for snowboarding tomorrow so it’s great to watch the progression of someone else to understand what I may go through.

Honestly wish there could've been someone like this for me. Just went for the first time with some friends yesterday and we kind of just jumped straight into things.. went down the bunny hill twice and thought we were ready to hit the actual slopes.. did pretty good for the first time but this definitely could've helped a lot

I dont ride very good myself( i can fall on black slopes) but i taught a couple of friends just like you showed in this video and it was pretty good, much better then i was learning it all myself. To teach how to link it into the turns i tried to ride together face to face, holding hands to help initiate the turn and finish it. It's just like waltz, i think it's very good for teaching too.

THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, My Two Sons are taking Their FIRST Solo Ski Trip This week To The Slopes In a few weeks and I'm so nervous, the first time I went skiing I had no Idea what I was doing Fake it till you make it I always say it. I had gone on a high school trip, finished ski school and did my thing and a misjudgement caused me to break my leg. Well my sons will be learning for the first time 23, 28 They keep asking me to go to the Condo and just relax and keep the dog company and enjoy the view of the blue ridge mountains, I just don't think I can deal with the cold and the snow, Multiple Sclerosis is not being nice to me, and the walker is working overtime, no need to be sad I would never get on slopes again, that fear is gone but the pain will never go away. I pray they enjoy and pray they choose to do it again and with my younger son living with a Autism, but Genius level, I told him thats might not help him snowboard though.... I pray they have trusting and good snowboarding instructors that are fun and Patient.

My first lesson last week was my skii friends taking me up a lift (I didn’t fall off!) and then basically having me send it down the green. I wish I saw this before I hit the mountain! Seeing these guys progress was super reinforcing. Cheers

I went snowboarding once for school for 3 days and had such a good teacher. It was my first time ever but I was already used to wakeboarding, skateboarding and waveboarding. At day 3 I was able to reach 45 kmh while still in full control and now I'm addicted and really want to go again. I'm saving up to go on another snowboarding vacation.

Just learned the hard way via trial and error today for the first time, incredibly sore now but man once you get the hang of it it’s so fun, don’t know what took me so long to try snowboarding.

These guys are so damn lucky. I just had my first timer lesson yesterday in NZ and i’m watching this to revise “theoretically”. I had that same question as the guy “wait so how do we stop?” then realise that the toe slide and heel slide we have learnt is basically how to stop LOL

I'm so glad I found this. I just went snowboarding for the first time yesterday after wanting to do it for years, but similar to one of the guys in the video, I was just afraid. I didn't really have any help or guidance, and basically wore myself out just trying to get around with the snowboard, trying to skate just from watching others. Unfortunately it's kind of late in the season, so I may not be able to get out again, but hopefully next season I can try and find a good hill to practice what you showed in this video and get more comfortable on the board. Plus, do more cardio over the summer, in an entire day at the hill, I only managed 2 trips down the bunny hill just because of how exhausted I was trying to get around.
