In this video we take a cable car to the top of St Anton in Austria for some steep chute snowboarding. We found an extremely steep chute to snowboard down that had pockets of fresh snow near the rocks. To make our way down these chutes we had to do quick hop snowboarding turns. It felt like we were doing 180's down the chute. We did two laps of this extremely steep snowboarding and TJ and I both agree that it was the steepest run of our lives. While at St Anton we also checkout out some of the Austrian food on the mountain. We ended the day by meeting with some fellow snowboarders from Europe who are also passionate about snowboarding! This was an incredible day in Austria excited for more travel vlogs to come! Thanks for watching!

Its really crazy terrain out there man... I'm in the US and the closest we get to terrain like that is on ski resorts in the Rockies. We have a shitload of ski resorts out here but I can count on one hand how much have terrain anything like the Alps, and I'm just talking about similar style riding, not anything like those views out there! That being said, we have some pretty great tree/glade riding out here in North America. Checkout some videos from Whitefish Montana or Jay Peak!

My first ever experience of snowboarding in mountains was at 'St Anton' going from a local mellow slope in the U.K. to this was one hell of a way to learn quick! First day, first run, I got lost from my group in a white out at the top of the mountain. Sat on my ass alone, unable to board effectively, had no idea where I was or what a piste map was. As I sat there a helicopter flew in and airlifted a body bag right where I was sitting! I was like that's me next.. I finally grew some balls and had to go down this step ass, chopped up mogul hill to reach my group. It was not fun, but something I'll never forget. Sometimes in life you just need to have a little confidence in yourself and go for it. I've been back to Austria every year since, 6 seasons in now!

Damn.... 😓 Stay safe. A friend of mine went between piste markers in fog, instead of past them. He had cheap £10 goggles from TK Maxx and they steamed up. He kinda went off a small cliff. It kinda freaked him out for the rest of his life. He is so cautious now, because he has a daughter and is married.

"It was not fun, but something I'll never forget." Lol, this is how I feel about like every black with moguls that's just ice. I don't enjoy it at all. I like actually boarding/skiing, not just constantly flipping back and forth at no speed and sliding down ice.

aaalllen the climate and latitude comes into play. For example on the east coast, clingmans dome in NC is the tallest mountain in the apalachain range at 6600ft but they had to build a cement viewing tower to be able to see over the trees that still grow at that elevation. Now go up to the north east in VT/NH/NY and trees stop growing at about 4500 feet.

Nice Video and nice editing. However you guys should give advice on avalanche and off-piste safety. As you said yourself, this looks nothing like the Whistler runs and therefore there are dangers you guys dont't see and know without the locals. Even though avalanche reports say its safe, there still might be rocks close beneath the snow. Locals know their mountains and know the runs, stones and difficulties. Would be nice to see you guys get some locals to take you off-piste, so there is some safety-advice involved. This Video encourages people who dont know what they are doing, that dont know the three avalanche checks, that dont know terrain and dont know the dangers to hop fences and just try ("as SPC showed, its easy"), which often gets people killed in the alps. Stay safe guys, hope there is more content comming.

Absolutely! If we get some powder on this trip we’ll talk more about avalanche safety and get some pro advice. Will have to invest in a full avalanche bag at some point soon! If that run a fresh snow on it we would haves definitely needed the locals advice!

They don't know about avalanche safety. You can tell by the reply above "will have to invest in a full avalanche bag" as if thats what avy safety is about. They shouldn't give advice on this... They're very irresponsible. But the youtube comments are piling up on all of their off-piste videos, and I hope that will result in them getting training and equipment, and then doing a video about it, and keeping it featured in every backcountry / off-piste video from then on. But I wouldn't hold my breath about that.

Great to see the comments on using Avi gear. When you get to Laax you'll see its even more big mountain skiing at over 3000M at Sass Fee and Zermatt 3,500 - 3,800M. When you get to Avoriaz be sure to buy the full PDS Pass as it will cover the entire 600KM of skiable area and will give you access to the Swiss Side of the Resort. If you went "on tour" you would do well to ride the same run twice. The freestyle / slopestyle park is in Avoriaz, you'll see it easy. If you only intend to ride the park then you only need the Avoriaz pass not the full PDS Have a look at "The Stash" which is on the way down to Les Lindarets Bowl. There is also a few tree runs in this area. In the Les Lindarets bowl you'll see the Ardent Bubble, follow the run through the bowl area where all the lifts are. It's a flat section so you'll have to walk about 100m not far so you end up on a run that follows the bubble. From here on your right you'll see a small run into Goat Village. It's a decent place to stop for a coffee, crepe, food etc. From there you ski down to the bubble and can head back up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5nVkp95grxsq9k You can always try the Swiss Wall to test your nerve. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX65YpKZj62hrrM

Pity the chair was replaced by a gondola this season. Not such an intense feeling skirting across the top of the chutes at the top anymore. But at least the new Schindlergratbahn gondola makes access to the chutes, the front face & the eastern face even easier, especially for snowboarders. Thanks for showing people around such a cool mountain. Pity you guys didn't get great snow there. I live for powder days on Schindler!

I went to St.Anton last year. Amazing resort. Be sure to visit Krazy Kanguruh and Mooserwirt for some Après-ski. Just before 5 PM Mooserwirt plays The Final Countdown by Europe just as the people come in from the top of the slope for a beer! (It got pretty crowded, but was a cool sight to see)

Schindler chutes are a lot of fun.. even more so with some decent fresh on them. Steepest chutes I’ve ridden. A fall at the top and it’s a long way down!! Gotta say though... you definitely should have the holy trinity with you when you’re doing this stuff.

There are steep lines in Les 2 Alpes, France, almost identical with this one but narrower, when I went, unfortunately, all the snow was so icy that we had to give up half way down and take the chicken lane :), I will try it again this year, maybe the condition will be better!
