Glad to see you doing what you do best and in the community. 8^) I agree with the Neo Geo Mini. It's a cool and fun unit that's easy and cheap to pickup and start anyone's interests on adventuring into the Neo-Geo. I have the Japanese, International, and Christmas editions in the collection. Hey Bracey, enjoyed the video! I picked up the US version over a year ago on a whim, when I stumbled upon it for sale at GameStop; I sure do miss the days when it felt safe to go out shopping, but haven’t gotten around to opening it yet. I’ve heard all about the filtered video as you mention, and I think for me that will be the biggest detractor from enjoying the unit to the fullest, but even still, glad I picked one up as a fun little, shelf or desk display piece and might even be enjoyable to mess around with from time to time even just playing it on the small screen within the unit. Hope all is well man, still need to watch your room tour! Saw it in my feed the other week but haven’t had time to watch yet, been so busy with work, had a baby this year, covid avoidance, etc.

Congrats on the baby! I'm right there with you. With schools being closed and my daughter doing her remote thing, it's been an adjustment for sure. And yeah I like the NG Mini overall; but as you said I kind of planned on them being display pieces more than being used regularly. If I want to play Neo Geo I'll play the MVS or CD every time.

Only picked up the SNES Classic a couple years ago and the Turbo Grafx, as far as these mini consoles go. Cool to see the game selection on one of these, pretty good variety. Awesome, short but sweet, vid Bracey. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Congrats on breaking 7k subs.

I loved the Mini and since the price drop I've been wanting to pick up an international, mainly due to Shock Troopers and the Metal Slugs. I've since gotten rid of it, but had that ridiculous Christmas Edition, mainly because it was it was the only edition at the time with Fatal Fury 1. I kept the christmas bag and one of the red controllers. I got Jarrett to pick up one of those controllers when they were selling on Amazon for like $11. They don't click, but definitely feel more solid than the original pads and honestly play just as good

IIRC the Christmas one is the only model that has Super Spy on it. Almost worth buying just for that alone!

I believe it's just a set of 3D printed letters. Each one is in several different pieces so putting them together is kind of like a puzzle. Annoying when someone runs into the desk and messes it up though, haha.

While the common criticisms are true, they are a bit over hyped. I purchased mine late, after I heard all the complaints, and really enjoy it despite it not being perfect (along with the Arcade Stick Pro).

It's not bad for what it's worth. Especially since I got one brand new for $30 so even with limited credits I don't feel cheated. I will admit that for an extra $30 I was able to get a JDX mini arcade which has not only the entire NG library but much more and I do find myself using more often. It also has better video output.

Very nice! Yeah, I do feel like some folks were unnecessarily hard on the mini. Hey at least it's better than the NGX.

@@snowcon3 I feel that as well. I mean the machine isn't perfect and it could have used a few more games but what you get is exactly what was advertised. The Neo Geo X Gold was a bullet I narrowly dodged hahaha. Even after seeing how bad it was the temptation of having a full sized Neo Geo decoy console seemed neat. Have you seen the new $400 barcade Neo Geo?

@@RetroDrew I have, and I think I'm going to pass on that one. Just a bit too pricey and with the new consoles coming this year it's already been expensive. I still want to pick up the SNK Arcade Stick Pro eventually too.

@@snowcon3 I'm in the same boat. It's a bit too pricey for 30 or so games I already have. I would much rather buy a bartop mame cabinet for around the same price.
