That cathedral is stunningly amazing. Not only is it beautiful architecture but it was built with no electricity, No cars and trucks to bring supplies, No home depot to purchase stuff... I can't even imagine how long it took to build that and how many people. It is glorious thank you so much for sharing it with us. And to know that this city managed to make it through. The wars it's also really wonderful because I know so much beautiful history was destroyed. It's gonna be fun to travel with you through europe.❤❤

After a long day at school teaching English to several classes of 8th graders here in Portugal, there's nothing more relaxing than going for a walk with you guys through that beautiful old town "en France"! The narrow streets, the stone walls, the market...both your soothing voices and the lovely music...Thanks for this!❤

I can imagine struggling with claustrophobia in that village. Especially if there is no sunshine. But I can envision the villagers of centuries gone by walking through the city. I can understand better how many of the movies we see are dreary and cold. Please stay safe! I'm ready for you to get your van back! I know you are, too! Thanks for taking us places that most of us will never visit in person. Love it!

He loved it!! 😅 you’re basically all-age friendly channel! He loved the monkeys and many other things! Cheers guys!

Hello Snow and Curt ,gotta congratulate you both on this video in France ,it brought back so many memories for me as our first trip away from UK 1975 was camping / Caravaning in France we live in Spain have done for 21 years retired early due to health issues ,we would have moved to France but the medical care 21 years ago wasn't as good as Spain so here we are very happy to be here but really loved your walk about ,it's so easy to take these places in Europe for granted it's good to see through your eyes the joy of discovering new places ,ideas and the history of it all ,keep on looking ,so much to see and feel ,stay safe I will look in again soon wishing you both well ...Love from España.

What you experienced is exactly how I felt when we were in the south of France in those ancient villages! We loved the markets- such great looking foods and in some they have some artisan crafts too. The depth of history also blew mind - so amazing! I only had 11 days there. I would loved to have the opportunity you have to be in a van! The cemetery you walked by with all the white crosses is the final resting place of many Scots who fought the Germans in World War 1.Drone footage of this area would have been lovely. Cobblestone streets make so much more sense than all that toxic asphalt we use in North America. Hope the weather improves for you soon. France is known for its amazing food so don't be afraid to shop the markets.

@@Bindismom , I'm 70. I traveled all over Europe in the '80's. We just had a Rail pass and we rode the trains where we wanted to go. We did avoid France because there was widespread hate towards Americans and we were cautious regarding Iran because they had American hostages . Went to England where my companions had family. We had to wait for available seats on the Freddy Laker air bus. I think about that plane, jam packed like human sardines and I now know, I would never set foot on a plane like that again. Still, somehow we all survived! Thanks to Snow and Curt I have traveled through South America , a place I never thought I wanted to go. Now, I wish I had the strenght and money to go. Beautiful people and colorful country's filled with wildlife . Well, you are not alone on their travels, I'm riding right beside you!

My mother was born and raised in Ireland and met my dad who was a Canadian navy officer in 1957 .. she came to Canada after a three week courtship and marriage :) she always said that Canada was a baby country in terms of history basically in its infancy .. she was so right about that .. what a wonderful journey so far .. I am really enjoying this new European van series .. it's exciting to see the way they live .. also surprising to see that their food sources are much much healthier than North America... although I could never afford the seafood in France .. the quality of food there tells me how important health is for the French . xo from Canada

Yes, food quality requirements in Europe is higher than the states. Don't rush from country to country. We did six countries in a month and it was a little too fast for us. You have to see the Netherlands, Haarlem. Also, head over to Eastern Europe when you have to leave the Schengen zone. I hear if you have T-Mobile you don't need to change SIM cards.

Excellent Video. I just love how far history goes back in the old world. How they build things to last. The U.S. just doesn't not have very many places that have even survived 500 years. You may not have all the wild life over there right now but you have all the history to boggle the minds and eyes. What? No cheese purchase? That would be the first thing to buy and some bread. I think I will make some chicken soup today. Your looked good.

There is a small village right over the border of France and Germany by the name of Hiilst (Germany). This is where my Grandmother was raised with her 8 siblings on the family farm. (Edited to add that this was considered "The Front" during the war and the large cement barriers meant to keep out tanks and trucks can still be seen.) She came to the USA just as WW2 was starting along with her sister. Her parents are buried in a small cemetary near a chapel that is now on part of what used to be their property. Her Father, my Great Grandfather, did not survive the war. As I stood at their graves I could litterally feel my roots through my feet. Oh the stories I heard growing up and they only make me think about the stories never spoken. As you walk through the streets of Europe try to remember those who walked there ahead of you. All of Europe is an amazing place with a history so deep for so many. I love watching you explore it.

When you get to Berlin make sure to make note on the ground where the Berlin wall used to stand. They have the entirity of it clearly marked in the pavement. EVERY village you pass through will have a market in the main square! Look for them before you go shopping. As you get closer to Christmas fresh fish will be in abundance. As much as I loved Paris, you are right about the magic of the small unpopular villages. And that goes for everywhere not just in France.

Loving your videos!!!! My son and his GF just took me to Europe (England, Ireland, Italy and France) for a 2-1/2 week trip for my 70th birthday - I'd only ever been to eastern Canada. It was the most amazing experience of my entire life. We rented cars (with stick shifts) in all 4 countries and my son did the driving on those narrow roads. It was cool weather, but we ate at outdoor cafes almost everywhere. I used the Orange Holiday sim e-card and it worked great. Looking forward to your future adventures.

I lived in Naples Italy for a year and went through out the “street markets” and they block whole streets and have everything you can imagine in these markets. We found a “shoe alley” street once and there were so many shoes!! I went with other Navy wives, (I was 19) and clueless! I bought things from like the black market because we got rations of cigarettes, liquor and gasoline and traded them for goods. Those wives taught me a lot! The history where you’re at amazing… can you imagine living back in that time?

oh this is gonna be fun.... so many villages (I think Senlis is more a town/ville than a village) that are similar, and so many places to visit ahead of you! Europe is just littered with places like this. 😄 You do need to try the venison, and the sanglier (boar) while you're there. Watch out for the hunters, too - hunting season in France is September to February, so if you go on any rural hikes, wear hi-viz vests or you could risk being shot. Much like the States I guess.

The hunters in Europe have some among them who really are careless. The Newbys just posted a vid last week about hunting dogs attacking their chickens. Well worth a watch if you find yourself some free wifi.

Yipee! I knew you two were going to love this new adventure into history. Your enthusiasm is what keeps me coming back. Figuring it all out is a hoot, like grinding those gears. Keep on trucking and tucking into the wonderful foods! 🕊🙏👍🌐 Lady Rusted

Everything is so beautiful, even the food trucks and vegetable stands. So very different to South America. I'm loving this new series of videos.

Great find. France has so many amazing places for you to explore. In fact Europe is so beautiful. I use park4night and stayed in vineyards and farms. Not sure if they're open in the winter! Have fun ❤

In Covington, Kentucky there is a replica of Notre Dame scale being 1/5 the size. Inside there is a mosaic of Christ about 24”x18” with 17,000 pieces.

Oh Senlis! Us Francophones know it well from dozens of movies shot there - in my case, a couple of historical swashbucklers, but particularly Louis de Funes's comedies. You did pick a soggy dark and dreary time to come to northern Europe - most Europeans head for Mediterranean at this time of year.

I'm guessing the roads aren't "wide enough" because it Europe is a much older country. It's always so nice to see you both and the kitties.
